2 TH ROYAL BRITISH LGION JOB DSCRIPTION JOB TITL: RPORTING TO: ROL PURPOS: Poppy Calls Fitter / Handy Man Poppy Calls Fitter Manager To provide a comprehensive home support service to TRBL beneficiaries to allow them to live independently in a safe and secure environment. KY RSPONSIBILITIS: To carry out a wide range of small household repairs and minor adaptations to a high standard, whilst ensuring the satisfaction of the client. Where appropriate, liaise with Occupational Therapy staff in the fitting of equipment, and the execution of minor adaptations to their specification. Be responsible for ordering and purchasing any materials necessary to carry out and complete a task to the Beneficiaries full satisfaction. All materials are to be ordered from the RBL Preferred Suppliers List. Where necessary visit Beneficiaries at home to determine the nature of the work required, and where necessary to take measurements of materials needed to complete the job. To carry out household checks and provide guidance on energy, security and home safety, as instructed by the Fitter Manager. Highlight any areas of concern immediately to the Senior Fitter. Complete all booking documents and records as instructed, returning them to the central administration office each week. Specifically these relate to Weekly Vehicle Safety Checks, Risk Assessments, Home Fire Security Checks (where applicable) and any other documentation requested by the Administration Office or the Fitter Manager. Where appropriate advise and sign post beneficiaries to other TRBL services, or other Health, Welfare and Social Care Agencies. To log all complaints and instigate the complaints procedure as required through the Poppy Calls Call Centre Manager. To promote the work of the service through the distribution of Leaflets and Materials. To promote the service amongst other local Health, Welfare and Social Care Agencies. To maintain contact with local Health, Welfare and Social Care Agencies. Where possible, to maintain monthly contact with RBL offices (including area or satellite offices).
3 To monitor and report monthly on levels of held stock to the Senior Fitter. To check the internal database on a daily basis to ensure the correct scheduling of work, and for amendments or cancellation to existing workloads. To maintain in good working order Legion equipment (including Vehicle, Laptop and Mobile Communication). To undertake all development training required to undertake the role to a satisfactory standard. Any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division. This job description reflects the current requirements of the role. As duties and responsibilities change and develop, this will be reviewed and will be subject to amendment in consultation with the post-holder. GNRAL RSPONSIBILITIS To maintain the confidentiality of Beneficiary Records. To understand and comply with all relevant sections of the Code of Conduct as it applies to RBL Handyvan services. To implement the qual Opportunities Policy into your daily activities. To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the Health and Safety Act (1974) and relevant C directives, including reporting any health and safety hazard immediately you become aware of it. To work in accordance with the data Protection Act (1998 and to ensure all new systems are reported to the Data Protection Officer. CONDITIONS Home based. xtensive travel across ast Anglia / ssex. Over night stays away from home. Some occasional weekend working in support of RBL events promotion may be required.
