These posts are 12 months fixed-term. In addition to the departmental role, you will also join the University's intern development programme, The Lincoln Award (Graduate Interns). There are three different roles available to support the work of the Careers & mployability team, these are: Customer Service, Design & Promotion and mployer ngagement. This is an integrated development programme and will include a range of workshops and group organisational project. The aim of the programme is to help you build up your key transferable skills as well as developing you both personally and professionally. The programme enables you to build a personal portfolio, allowing you to reflect on your learning and development throughout your employment with us, and also support your next career step. It is expected that the successful candidate will fully engage in the development programme as part of this graduate intern role. Please note you do not need to have completed the Lincoln Award at undergraduate level to apply for this position. Page 1 of 5

2 JOB PURPOS These roles will support the work of the Careers & mployability team in the following areas: Customer Service Provide a daily front facing service for students, responsible for dealing with a large volume of enquiries. Responsible for the customer journey and student experience with knowledge of all resources available Provide customers with information and advice on all areas of the Careers & mployability service, including effective referrals Responsible for booking and administration of all student appointment and student event bookings. Maintain and coordinate booking information across the team and the student records system Responsible for producing customer service feedback reports at regular intervals. Design & Promotion To design and produce marketing materials for a variety of mediums including social media, posters, leaflets and slides. Promote all events; Careers Central Workshops, mployer vents programme and off campus events. To assist with maintenance of the service s social media resources, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn To assist with organisation and implementation of all on campus marketing To support with the organisation of all Lincoln Award activities. To support in the marketing and implementation of the annual Careers Fair mployer ngagement Coordinate all employer requests and enquiries, including posting all job adverts for the service Co-ordinate the mployer vents programme and transport for off campus events To take a leading role in the organisation, planning and implementation of the annual Careers Fair Provide a gateway referral point for the team and initiating new activities/relationships ngage with employer contacts to generate new opportunities for student employment, graduate employment, placements and internships To support marketing of all job roles to students, graduates and academics, including maintaining the Twitter jobs feed Review and analyse vacancies to inform service delivery All the roles will have some front facing responsibility within our Careers & mployability Centre. To support and develop in the roles, all three roles will undertake the training programme provided by the Human Resources team, entitled the Lincoln Award for Graduate Interns. Page 2 of 5

3 KY RSPONSIBILITIS Planning & Organising Support the development and progression of project plans against objectives. Support the management of objectives to ensure activities are delivered within agreed timescales. Seek solutions to challenges that may present themselves whilst supporting projects. Communication & Liaison Communicate to project lead on progress of projects ensuring consistent and accurate information is collated. To act as the central point of contact within the team on specific projects. To work effectively and co-operatively within the Careers & mployability team and widely across the University. To maintain networks with other institutions as appropriate to build knowledge of good practice so that this is understood and shared. Support the development of documentation suitable for the appropriate audience. Customer Relationship Management To build effective working relationships with members of both academic and professional service staff. To engage with existing contacts in order to develop new networks for college and service department engagement. To liaise with key project stakeholders to keep them informed in a timely manner of key stages during project progression. Research and Development To undertake background research, information and data gathering that will support project development. To assist in the development and drafting of necessary pieces of work e.g. relevant processes ensuring coherence and alignment with existing guidelines. Data and Information Management To provide progress reports which are suitable for both strategic and operational decision-making. To support development of project-related communication to enable both internal and external publication through a range of communication means. Page 3 of 5

4 Contribution to team/organisational work To take responsibility for tasks given which will require some degree of self-direction and independent working, in order to deliver agreed objectives in the timescales outlined in project plans. ngage with other duties as necessary and agreed with the project sponsors. Take responsibility for own professional development through engaging with the Lincoln Award In addition to the above, undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Scope and dimensions of the role The post holder will be able to work under their own initiative as well as part of a dedicated team. The post holder will be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to ensuring accuracy. The post holder will be able to deal with correspondence and matters of a routine nature, and will be able to use their own initiative to ensure that problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
