3 Position Purpose The General Manager Mallee (Operations & Strategy) contributes to the overall objectives of the organization by: Providing overall leadership and management to Mallee Operations for Haven; Home, Safe Developing, sponsoring and implementing new strategic business opportunities Ensuring quality client services Exemplary team and stakeholder management Managing financial resources & risks Highly ethical leader and representative of Haven; Home, Safe Home Safe s senior leadership team It is critical for the job holder to proactively manage the staff in the Mallee and ensure there is a close interface with their Bendigo colleagues. The person in this role must ensure that the culture and organsiations values are upheld and are consistent with those in other Haven; Home, Safe sites. Key Accountabilities & KPI The key accountabilities and performance indicators for the position are: 1. STRATEGIC BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives and growth of Haven; Home, Safe by: Operationalize strategic objectives successfully Identifying new opportunities, monitoring external trends/opportunities Developing the business case (submission/tender) and engaging stakeholders Negotiating with stakeholders/partners both internally and externally Successfully sponsoring new initiatives to gain support Scoping implementation and resource requirements Preparing internal stakeholders for change by engaging and developing capacity Oversight of embedding of change, development of policies, communication plans etc Evaluation and review of success, shares lessons learned, reporting back to key stakeholders Working successfully with peers to develop bids and submissions KPIs: achievement of strategic objectives, feasibility of new business innovations, stakeholder feedback, delivery of project outcomes on time, quality standards & budget, clear evidence based thinking 2. QUALITY CLIENT SERVICE MANAGEMENT Ensure Haven; Home, Safe continues to be the provider of choice: by: embedding a strong culture of high performance & quality client services Tracking progress towards targets and developing interventions where required Ensuring the rights and responsibilities of clients is understood and respected Develop problem solving and continuous improvement capacity within the team leaders Oversee handling of customer complaints, quality audits etc KPIs: Service business plan, Performance standards & targets meet, client feedback, new service initiatives, cohesive team

FINANCIAL RESOURCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT Ensure financial resources and risks are managed appropriately by : Developing, monitoring and regular reporting to budget Proactively identifying any gaps and implement plans to address Regularly reviewing and identifying operational and project risks and implementing mitigation plans KPIs: budget, risk plans and mitigation, timely and comprehensive reporting 5. 5 As a strategic management position the role will be subject to change in line with the strategic plan. Role Context: This section outlines the role context ie: Delegations, authority levels, responsibilities, decision making Position Reports to: Executive Director Northern Operations Roles reporting to the Position: To be determined (two to four staff) Leadership team: this role is part of the key senior strategic leadership and is expected to represent the organization both internally and externally with a wide- range of stakeholders and identify opportunities for growth Business Development: Subject to annual strategic business planning Delegation level: General Manager as prescribed by the manual of delegations Key Selection Criteria Essential: Extensive experience in management of complex human services teams and exceptional knowledge of the social housing sector, policy & practice, trends & issues management, human resources, financial, quality & risk Extensive experience leading new business growth Proven track record in delivering successful and complex innovations from concept (submissions), acceptance, embedding change and evaluation, demonstrating evidence based thinking, and collaborative and ethical behaviours with stakeholders at all levels Superior complex problem solving skills and conceptualizing change plans to drive team/organization success Ability to negotiate positive outcomes/partnerships and deal with sensitive matters Evidence of effective leadership and people management Exemplary communicator and influencer at all levels, including Board, Executive, team and partners (public speaking, negotiating positive outcomes, tender writing success and report writing) Able to manage a high pressure work demands, set high standards for self and team, high level of personal productivity, able to assist team to prioritise and change focus to deliver outcomes

6 Qualifications & Experience Formal qualification in related disciplines or other relevant qualifications are highly desirable, but a person having significant success and experience in a similar position is encouraged to apply.
