1 Job Description Job Title Salary: Reporting to: Department: Employability Co-ordinator up to 28k per annum depending on qualifications and experience Youth and Communities Manager Youth and Communities (QPR in the Community Trust) The purpose of the role is to manage and co-ordinate all of the employability programmes on behalf of the Trust. The post holder will co-ordinate and deliver various life skills workshops, qualifications, networking events and anything else which involves employability themed projects. The post holder will be the first point of contact and responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing all work experience students at the Trust and the wider football club if necessary. You will develop a work experience programme, including a workbook resource and timetable to be delivered across the wider Trust to ensure that each young person has a consistent experience. You will be the main point of contact and keep an up to date record of all of the volunteers across the Trust and keep a track of their hours. You will review this regularly to assess what value each individual is giving and also that they are continuing to enjoy their experience. In line with this it will be the responsibility of the post holder to deliver all employability, personal development and life skills content across all projects including the traineeships and apprenticeships. The role will be to grow the traineeship or equivalent initiative and foundation degree programmes across the club. You will source participants, deliver the employability training aspect and co-ordinate their work experience training. You will be required to ensure that these programmes hit all of their KPIs thus ensuring that they become sustainable for the future. It will be necessary for the postholder to integrate employability delivery across various strands of the QPR in the Community Trust in order to maximise impact. To work in line with the Youth and Communities department strategy to manage current delivery partnerships and maximise their potential, co-ordinate accredited learning and work collaboratively with any other stakeholders in order to deliver the Trusts vision. To represent the Club and the Trust at any event as requested by the Youth and Communities Manager or the Trust CEO. You will also support the Trust with Community action projects and sports events. 2 Key Responsibilities: 1. Project manage at QPR. This is to include (not exhaustive): a. Engage and inspire participants in the programme. b. Be the day to day contact for participants c. Manage core timetable of work ready activities d. Liaise with external delivery partners e. Facilitate volunteering and work experience placements f. Offer extended support through 1:1 sessions after core activities have finished g. Deliver practical and classroom-based sessions h. Complete monitoring & evaluation and reporting in line with PLCF and QPR policies 2. To manage the relationship with OCN London and ensure that all accredited qualifications are delivered in line with the partnership agreement and to write schemes of work and lesson plans for all accredited courses to be delivered at QPR. 3. To be the main point of contact for strategic partners such as Partnership for Young London and the Young Hammersmith and Fulham Foundation. To create and sustain new delivery partnerships that will allow the Trust to increase its provision and impact in the local community. 4. To be proactive in helping the Trust to diversify its funding streams and to support in the writing of applications for new funding. 5. To support the Education Manager with co-ordinating any other projects/ programmes that come under the Education department and to deliver high quality tutoring/ mentoring sessions, including any necessary administration, on any other projects as part of the Education Department. 6. To work as part of the Youth and Communities Department to deliver outputs and outcomes on both Kicks, Kicks discretionary, unrestricted and other funded programmes. 7. To support the referrals log and work with a caseload of formally referred young people. To liaise with partners and Trust staff to signpost young people to the best and most appropriate intervention for them. 8. To co-ordinate the Kicks sessions for the boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow. 9. To support the Youth and Communities department with the development of the Foot on the Ball/ Active Mindset programme, source consultation, develop content and deliver it. 10. To act as the Views Supervisor on all Youth and Community projects, checking on data inputted by Youth and Communities Apprentices, Placements, and Sessional Staff and Y&C Officers. To provide a bi-weekly Views report via for the Youth and Communities Manager 11. To be the Treasurer and Secretary of New Queens Park FC and to develop the Football Club in order to support Trust KPIs and outcomes. 12. To grow unrestricted income by getting the buy in of services from local partners. Page 2

3 13. To deliver high quality coaching sessions & qualifications to a range of age groups and abilities. 14. You may be required to work QPR home match days, evenings, weekends and Bank holidays when instructed by the Trust CEO/Line Manager. 15. Deliver against agreed targets as per any project plan and funding conditions. 16. Ensure all activities are delivered to the standards expected in regards to health and safety and local safeguarding and child protection policies and in accordance with the Trust/Club s Equal Opportunities Policy. 17. When required, provide cover and assistance for other staff across all boroughs/areas that the Trust operates. This cover may extend to attending meetings, conferences, workshops and events if required. 18. Work with a range of children and young people from targeted areas including at risk of offending young people and vulnerable socially excluded young people, to build up positive relationships. 19. Continually monitor and evaluate all sessions, activities and programmes, adapt delivery accordingly. And report against this in line with funding requirement. 20. Retain young people in sport by providing guidance on progression, exit routes and further sporting and leisure opportunities based on the young person s interests and abilities. 21. Adapt sessions to cater for differing ranges of ability. 22. Commit to a programme of continuing personal development (CPD), which adds value to your coaching and personal development. 23. Adopt a fair and equitable approach at all times in accordance with and adhering to the Club/Trusts Equality Policy. 24. Comply with Health and Safety Policy and systems; take a proactive approach to health and safety matters to ensure the safety of you, participants, volunteers and staff. 25. Liaise with agencies to help keep the programme relevant with local, regional and national agendas. This to include maintaining a high level of expertise in the field. 26. Assist the Trust CEO/Trust Manager/Trust Business Development Manager in the attainment of new funding to sustain and develop the coaching project. 27. Work to agreed budgets and to targets set in project plans. 28. To be a positive role model at all times. 29. You must always be well presented and wear current Queens Park Rangers Football Club/Trust uniform whilst on duty and representing the Club/Trust and its partners. 30. All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position. Person Specification A background in education/coaching/youth work. You will need to be sensitive to the needs of young persons, as well as youth with a disability, at risk of offending and vulnerable young people. You will need to act as a positive role model for the young people and build positive relationships with those young people who attend your sessions. Have a genuine interest in creating opportunities through sport and education for disadvantaged persons within the community. Passion for working with young people and using sport to help inspire change. You will need to have negotiation skills in order to maximise partnerships with external agencies. An understanding of how to use the brand of QPR to inspire change. Qualifications/Licences Background/qualifications in youth work and/or education NGB recognised coaching qualifications (Level 2 & above desirable) Enhanced DBS check Safeguarding Children certificate First Aid certificate IAG Level 4 / Level 6 (Desirable) Education Training Award / PTLSS (Desirable) Experience Working with young people aged years, from disadvantaged communities (Essential) Working with socially excluded young people. (Desirable) Experience of leading monitoring and evaluation for projects and knowledge of differing tools. (Essential) Compiling and delivering education/employability workshops. (Essential) Experience of leading projects. (Essential) Leading on delivering football/sport coaching sessions. (Desirable) Experience of leading funding applications from the concept to completion. (Desirable) Proven track record of identifying funding and support to grow projects under your role. (Essential) Delivering accreditations/qualifications (Desirable) Working with partner agencies to facilitate learning.
