4 Overview Twards a new system COP , adptin f a new RIS frmat and electrnic submissin COP 11, reslutin 8 Paragraph 12 ADOPTS the Ramsar Site Infrmatin Sheet (RIS) 2012 revisin as annexed t this Reslutin; Paragraph 15c) the Ramsar Secretariat t update the Ramsar Sites Database (RSDB) t receive Ramsar Site data and infrmatin in the new frmat, allwing fr n-line electrnic submissin f Ramsar Infrmatin Sheets Paragraph 18 INSTRUCTS the Secretariat t implement the terms f Reslutin VIII.13 (2002) para. 11 regarding upgrading the functinality f the RSDB t allw the n-line electrnic submissin f RISs by Cntracting Parties and, in particular, t ensure that the RSDB captures all data and infrmatin prvided by Cntracting Parties in Ramsar Infrmatin Sheets, rather than just a subset f such data and infrmatin as at present;

5 Overview Key highlights Need t update the Ramsar Site infrmatin regularly COP 8, Reslutin VIII.13 Paragraph 4 AWARE that in Reslutin VI.13 the Cntracting Parties reslved t give pririty t prviding updated maps and cmpleted Infrmatin Sheets n Ramsar Wetlands (RISs) and t revise the data at least every six years; Use the new system as f January 2015 COP 11, Reslutin 8 Paragraph 15 AGREES that this RIS 2012 revisin frmat and its accmpanying Strategic Framewrk 2012 revisin will frmally enter int use frm January 2015 fr designatins f new sites, extensins t existing sites and updates n existing sites
