1 INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION AGREEMENT FOR YEARS 5 TO 12. The measures utlined in this dcument are based n ur Kambala Schl Values. This use agreement includes infrmatin abut yur bligatins, respnsibilities, and the nature f pssible cnsequences assciated with breaches. Permissin t use Schl ICT equipment/devices is subject t the signed cnsent t this agreement by the student and her parent. Schl ICT is exclusively fr educatinal purpses apprpriate t the Schl envirnment when used at Schl r at a Schl-related activity. Students are expected t abide by the rules and instructins in this use agreement at all times, even when nt at Schl. This agreement is brken int three parts: 1. Acceptable Use f Infrmatin and Cmmunicatin technlgy Laptp prgram 3. Mbile phne usage All Junir and Senir Schl Students and their parents must read and sign the plicy dcument. This plicy replaces all ther previus ICT Acceptable Use plicies fr students which perated within the schl previusly. Imprtant Terms Used in this Dcument: Schl refers t Kambala. The abbreviatin ICT refers t the term Infrmatin and Cmmunicatin Technlgies and at Schl includes bth Schl ICT and privately wned ICT equipment/devices Cyber-safety refers t the safe use f the Internet and ICT equipment/devices, including mbile phnes. Schl ICT refers t the Schl s cmputer netwrk, Internet access facilities, cmputers, sftware, and ther Schl ICT equipment/devices as utlined in (f) belw 1-1Laptp refers t a Schl laptp issued t a student fr her exclusive use, including at hme The term ICT equipment/devices used in this dcument, includes but is nt limited t, cmputers (such as desktps, laptps, PDAs), strage devices (such as USB and flash memry devices, CDs, DVDs, ipds, MP3 players), cameras (such as vide, digital, webcams), all types f mbile phnes, gaming cnsles, vide and audi players/receivers (such as prtable CD and DVD players), and any ther, similar, technlgies as they cme int use Objectinable in this agreement means material that deals with matters such as sex, cruelty, r vilence in such a manner that it is likely t be injurius t the gd f students r incmpatible with a Schl envirnment

2 Scial Media refers t Internet r web technlgies that allw peer-t peer cnversatins and exchange f cntent such as instant messaging, nline frums, nline chat, scial netwrks (e.g. Facebk), vice ver IP (e.g. Skype) and media sharing (e.g. YuTube) External Web Service refers t a service n the Web that is nt hsted by the Schl. e.g. Facebk, Gmail

3 1. Acceptable Use f Infrmatin and Cmmunicatin Technlgy (ICT) As a safe and respnsible user f ICT I will use ICT apprpriately and help keep myself and ther peple safe by fllwing these rules. I cannt use Schl ICT until my parent and I have read and acknwledged my cnsent t this use agreement within the time frame specified by the Schl. I understand that at Schl I may nly use ICT fr educatinal purpses unless therwise permitted by my teacher(s). I understand that at Schl I may nly use games r Scial Media when permitted by my teacher(s). I understand that rules in this agreement apply equally when I use any External Web Service (e.g. Facebk) fr Schl-related purpses. I understand that if I use an External Web Service at Schl, I will nt use any persnal accunt(s) that I may have; rather, I will create and use an Educatinal Web Accunt and then nly in accrdance with the instructins f my teacher(s). In particular, I will use the username prescribed by the Schl I will nt accept friends r grant access t anyne withut the cnsent f my teacher(s) I will nt cnnect t r jin ther accunts, grups r netwrks withut the cnsent f my teacher(s) I will ensure that my accunt des nt cntain any inapprpriate material r infrmatin I will ensure that my accunt des nt make public any persnally identifiable infrmatin I will infrm a parent r teacher f any suspicius activity r in the event that my accunt is accessed by anyne nt permitted by my teacher(s). I understand that I may nt use the name Kambala in any web accunt r site that I create r maintain with any External Web Service, withut the written cnsent f the Schl. I understand that rules in this agreement apply equally t any privately wned ICT equipment/device (such as a laptp, mbile phne, ipad, USB drive) that I bring t Schl r use in a Schl-related activity. Any images r material n such equipment/devices must be apprpriate t the Schl envirnment. I will lg n nly using my wn username. I will nt allw anyne else t use my username. I will nt tell anyne else my passwrd. I will nt have any invlvement with any ICT material r activity which might put myself r anyne else at risk (e.g. bullying r harassing). I understand that I must nt at any time use ICT t upset, ffend, harass, threaten r in any way harm thers r the Schl itself, even if it is meant as a jke. I understand that there may be criminal penalties fr, amng ther things:

I will nly use my mbile phne(s), mbile device(s) at the times that I am permitted t during the Schl day. While using Schl ICT, I will nt: Access, r attempt t access, inapprpriate, age restricted, r bjectinable material Dwnlad, save r distribute such material by cpying, string, printing, transmitting, r shwing it t ther peple Make any attempt t get arund r bypass security, mnitring and filtering that is in place n Schl ICT If I accidentally access inapprpriate material while using Schl ICT, I will: Nt shw thers Turn ff the screen r minimise the windw and Reprt the incident t a teacher r parent immediately I understand that I must nt cpy any media r dwnlad any files such as music, vides, games r prgrams if t d s wuld be in breach f cpyright; e.g. dwnlading cpyrighted music fr free using file sharing sftware/prgrams. If I am in dubt, I will ask my teacher(s). I als understand that anyne wh infringes cpyright may be persnally liable under this law. I will nt cnnect any device (such as a USB drive, camera r phne) t, r attempt t run any sftware n, Schl ICT withut a teacher s permissin. This includes all wireless technlgies. I will nt disclse unnecessarily any persnal infrmatin (including phts) nline abut myself r any ther persn. I will als get permissin frm any ther persn invlved. Persnal infrmatin includes name, address, address, phne numbers, phts, the schl that yu attend and any ther persnally identifiable infrmatin. I will respect all lct systems in use at Schl and treat all ICT equipment/devices with care. This includes: Nt intentinally disrupting the smth running f any Schl ICT systems Nt attempting t hack r gain unauthrised access t any system Nt mdifying unnecessarily any Schl ICT Nt allwing fd, drink r ther liquids near Schl ICT Reprting any breakages/damage/faults t a member f staff Fllwing all Schl cyber-safety rules, and nt jining in if ther students chse t be irrespnsible with ICT

5 I understand that the Schl may mnitr activity, traffic and material sent and received using Schl ICT. The Schl may use filtering and/r mnitring sftware t restrict access t certain sites and data, including . I understand that the Schl may audit its cmputer netwrk, Internet access facilities, cmputers and ther Schl ICT equipment/devices r cmmissin an independent frensic audit. Auditing f the abve items may include any stred cntent, and all aspects f their use, including . I understand that if I break these rules, the Schl may infrm my parent(s). In serius cases the Schl may take disciplinary actin against me. I als understand that my family may be charged fr repair csts. If illegal material r activities are invlved, it may be necessary fr the Schl t infrm the plice.

6 2. 1:1 Laptp Prgram The 1:1 laptp prgram is available fr all the students in Years 5 t 12. The schl prvides each student with the fllwing: 1 MacBk Air, 1 charger, 1 external hard drive and 1 USB cable, 1 prtective case fr the laptp, all the relevant sftware which is installed n the laptps. In Junir Schl, the students receive an extra charger - ne that remains in the classrm The schl purchases the laptps thrugh a lease and this cst is then passed n t parents. This allws us t make use f ur site sftware licenses and als t negtiate a favurable lease agreement. Every laptp is cvered under accidental damage plicy which has a $200 excess that will be charged t the parent in case f physical damage. It is the respnsibility f the students t back up their data regularly. They are given an external hard drive t back up their data regularly and they are trained n hw t take regular backups when they receive the laptps. In cases f hard disk crashes, r unintentinal deletin f files/flders, ICT department will try its best t recver the data, hwever ICT department is nt respnsible fr lst data. The laptps will be cllected by the ICT Department at the end f lease t be inspected and packaged. If there are any physical damages incurred that have t be settled with the insurance cmpany, there is a $200 excess which will be billed t the parent. The laptps are t be returned t the financial cmpany at the end f the lease accrding t the fllwing schedule: Year 5 students are given a laptp that is leased fr 2 years which then gets cllected at the end f year 6. Year 7 and Year 10 students are given a laptp that is leased fr 3 years which then gets cllected at the ends f Years 9 and 12 respectively. In additin t the laptps, the students are expected t return the chargers and the hard drives alng with the USB cables. Students wh are nt able t prvide all the items will be charged fr the missing items. (Year 12 students are nt required t return the external hard drives and USB cables.)

7 3. Mbile phne usage Parents shuld be aware if their daughter takes a mbile phne t schl. Year 5-6 students are required t hand their mbile phnes in t their class teacher at the beginning f the day. It will be returned at the end f the day. Year 7-10 students are nt permitted t use mbile phnes during the schl day. If brught t schl, mbile phnes shuld be lcked in their lcker. They are permitted t check their mbile phne at recess and lunchtime when they access their lcker. At all ther time the mbile is t remain lcked in their lckers unless a teacher has specifically asked them t use it in class. Year 11 and 12 students are permitted t have their mbile phnes. Teachers will indicate if and when they can be used in class. On the rare ccasin a student may need t g the bathrm during class time her mbile phne will remain in the classrm. Students will nt use mbile phnes while mving arund the schl as this is a safety hazard. Recess and lunch are unplugged. There will be n use f technlgy in the playgrund at these times. If any student is fund t have breached these expectatins, her mbile phne will be cnfiscated. On the first ccasin the phne will be cnfiscated until the end f the day. If these expectatins are breached repeatedly, it will be cnfiscated fr a lnger perid f time at the discretin f the Year Crdinatr (senir schl). Cnfiscated phnes are t be taken t Senir Receptin with the name f the student recrded.
