CHILD SAFETY Wesley Mission Victoria (WMV) has a commitment to providing a child safe environment and establishing Page 1 of 5

2 and maintaining work places, work practices and systems which keep children safe from harm and protected from abuse. A child safe environment is one where all adults accept responsibility for keeping all children safe from abuse and where children feel safe, respected, valued and supported to reach their full potential. At WMV this is enacted by responding to the needs of children, vulnerable people and their families in manner which is compassionate, professional and culturally appropriate. Whether we work directly with children or not, keeping children safe is central to our values and requires us all to play a part. Child safety policies and procedures are accessible to staff on WesCom. POSITION OBJECTIVES AND OVERVIEW The role of the Candidate Marketer is to increase employment prospects for Wesley Employment Service (WES) clients by proactively creating job opportunities through the hidden job market as well as cold calling on behalf of the client. This role is required to build relationships with employers, hosts and WES clients in order to obtain and maintain meaningful, on-going employment opportunities for clients. RESPONSIBILITIES KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Key Outcomes KEY ACTIVITIES Create new positions/vacancies/placements for WES clients with employers and hosts through reverse marketing, cold calling, job creation and telemarketing Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers, community service organisations, and clients Deliver services that meet all relevant performance and outcome indicators. Deliver services that comply with relevant funding agreements, accreditation and program standards and are in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Team Collaboration Challenges Promote and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment Identify opportunities to integrate and work collaboratively across teams and other programs Be vigilant in identifying and reporting workplace hazards and proactively managing health and safety risks Delivering effective services during a period of internal and external transformational change Keeping abreast of current and emerging issues and best practice in service delivery Ensuring services are evidence based, flexible and responsive to changing needs Page 2 of 5

3 Effective delivery of Wesley services Working with the Business Manager, responsibilities of the position include: Acting on opportunities and leads identified by the Employer Engagement Coordinator and/ or survey the local job market and industry sectors in order to locate suitable employment opportunities relevant to the individual client s skills and abilities Promote information about assistance available to clients, hosts and employers to support the client s employment opportunity Assist WES clients with pre-employment skill development (appropriate to various employment fields) as well as independent job search, work trials and resume development Provide appropriate follow up contact and support to WES clients and employers once the client s employment has commenced To be available to work at various sites when required by management Other duties as directed by the Business Manager to improve and promote the agency s services.
