3 Who we are Our 2000 Marie Curie Nurses cover 96% of the UK. Providing hands on nursing care and practical support in patients homes. Last year, our nurses cared for more than 31,500 patients Marie Curie Hospices provide care for more than 8000* people living with a terminal illness in the UK each year. More than 40,000 visits were made to our day or outpatient services Our free Information and Support Service, as well as the Helper Service offer support and companionship to anyone affected by a terminal illness 3

14 Case Cannibalisation studies: (*Marie Curie example data selection) Out of 372* donors recruited in the year 2006, 241 of these had not made a known financial transaction to Marie Curie prior to making their first Payroll Giving transaction. Almost 1/3 of donors had a relationship with MC prior to making a PG donation. Out of 372 donors, 248 were recorded to have transactions after the last recorded PG transaction, whilst 124 continued to solely support via PG financial transactions. 14
