1 Role Statement The Position Project Manager, Exhibitions Department and Division Experience Production; Experience and Engagement Classification Grade Exhibitions 4; Value Range 1 Position Type Full-time; Ongoing Salary Range $81,354 (base of grade) Position Number MV/9181 Reports to Manager, Touring Exhibitions Date Prepared May 2018 Purpose of this Position The purpose of this position is to manage and produce a range of projects for the Experience Production department at all Museums Victoria s venues, including incoming and outbound touring exhibitions, temporary and permanent exhibitions, rapid response displays, Planetarium shows, multimedia productions, gallery refreshments and object changeovers. Primary Accountability The position is accountable for ensuring that all assigned projects meet set objectives and are completed on time, on budget and to the highest quality in consultation with stakeholders. Duties 1. Project manage, lead, produce and champion a range of projects for the galleries, foyers and public spaces including: inbound and outbound travelling exhibitions rapid response displays Planetarium shows multimedia productions small scale exhibition developments gallery refreshments object changeovers orientation and wayfinding visitor facilities projects major maintenance. Project management may involve leading and managing: People contractors, teams, internal and external stakeholders Tasks identification, allocation and delivery Budget - monitoring and management Schedule creation and management Risk management Reporting Experience production may include: Leading project teams through concept, developed design and documentation Development and production of exhibition and experience components through to

2 installation. These components may include: built form, multimedia, object layouts and visual identity Handover of exhibitions and experiences to operational teams Project evaluation with a focus on successful visitor outcomes. 2. Undertake an allocated role on the development of a major long-term exhibition or production of a major inbound/outbound exhibition project as part of the Project Team. 3. Develop and manage the tour of outbound Museums Victoria exhibitions, including contributing to funding grant applications, and arranging evaluation, acquittals and reporting. 4. Relieve an Exhibition Manager for an allocated period, undertaking their duties. 5. Ensure compliance with OHS and risk management policies and procedures and be proactive in addressing issues that arise. Keep abreast of developments in exhibition presentation, establish and maintain peer networks within the industry; and develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 6. Comply with Museums Victoria's policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations Note: The incumbent will at times be required to manage multiple projects at different stages; however, they will only be allocated projects to manage within their capacity. As such, the duties listed are for different types of projects requiring management, as opposed to an expectation that each of these would be managed concurrently. The incumbent can also expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level. Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated project management and planning skills including proven ability to set priorities, manage timelines, budgets, resources and compliance requirements. 2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the development and delivery of major visitor experiences, including exhibitions and multimedia projects within a museum, science center, arts organisation or visitor attraction environment. 3. Demonstrated experience in leading a diverse, multi-function team with the staff management skills to foster a co-operative, collegiate and highly productive team environment. 4. Sound industry networks and a proven ability to apply high level communication, negotiation and presentation skills to engage a broad range of stakeholders, individuals and community groups. 5. Demonstrated capacity to influence colleagues and advocate on behalf of audiences, to ensure that Museums Victoria projects are developed with an audience centered approach. 6. Demonstrated understanding of quality standards and sustainability as applicable to the exhibition and museum sector. 7. The successful incumbent is required to obtain a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).

Reporting Relationships Director, Experience and Engagement Manager, Touring Exhibitions Operations, Manager, Senior Producer Project Manager, Exhibitions Lateral Relationships To effectively perform the role, the incumbent must develop collegiate working relationships within the work unit team, the Department, the Division and related Departments across Museums Victoria.

4 The Project Manager will be line managed by the Manager, Touring Exhibitions but will be accountable to the Operations Manager and Senior Producer when assigned projects related to their responsibilities. It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent must be prepared to work from each of Museums Victoria s main sites. Inherent Physical Requirements Museums Victoria has a duty of care to all staff. As such, staff should be aware that this document is not intended to represent the role which the occupant will perform in perpetuity. This role statement is intended to provide an overall view of the incumbent s role as at the date of this statement. In addition to this document, the specifics of the incumbent s role will be described in Department work and project plans, and in performance plans developed by the incumbent and relevant supervisor as part of Museums Victoria s performance management process. Other Relevant Information Conditions of employment will be in accordance with the prevailing Museums Victoria Enterprise Partnership Agreement. This is a full-time; ongoing position with the ordinary hours of work being 76 over a 14- day cycle. The incumbent may elect to undertake the role of Duty Manager on occasional weekends and public holidays throughout the year. Museums Victoria operates from five locations: Scienceworks, Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, the Royal Exhibition Building and the Moreland Collection Store.
