We own and operate the Prominent Hill copper-gold mine and are developing the Carrapateena copper-gold advanced exploration project, both located in South Australia. Prominent Hill is comprised of an open pit mine and two underground mines. Carrapateena is one of Australia s largest undeveloped copper deposits, currently at an advanced exploration stage. OZ Minerals is also building a pipeline of projects which can deliver superior returns in the short to medium term through acquisition and organic developments. 2 Job Purpose: (Why does this job exist?) Realise the value from Continuous Improvement opportunities by safely executing all forms of improvement using the process of The role of the Reliability Technician at Prominent Hill is a key participant in both the Maintenance Life Cycle and Continuous Improvement at Prominent Hill. Maintenance Life Cycle: The role of the Reliability Technician s key responsibilities include developing and delivering the condition monitoring program to ensure plant equipment is being maintained to high standards and accurately predict equipment failure to prevent unscheduled plant downtime. Your focus will be on performing predicative maintenance which contributes to plant reliability targets. This role entails the implementation of best practice maintenance methods, supervision of maintenance personnel and contractors to ensure compliance with OZ Minerals policies and procedures. The role primarily operates within the Identify Phase of the life cycle. Support may be requested during any of the other phases when completing either a preventative, corrective or breakdown maintenance task. Continuous Improvement: The Prominent Hill Engineering team, in collaboration with our production partners, will seek to identify, evaluate and prioritise opportunities for safety, cost and reliability improvements at Prominent Hill. Minimum 7-8 years experience post Trade qualifications Experience in condition based monitoring and lubrication systems within a minerals processing or heavy industrial environment Experience in assessing equipment failures Industrial processing experience with a continuous operation Mechanical or electrical trade qualifications Application of condition monitoring and lubrication technologies In depth knowledge of equipment types, failure mechanisms and predictive technologies. Management and coordination of condition monitoring service providers. Assisting in the refinement and implementation of the plants condition monitoring program. Providing recommendations and machinery health assessments to the maintenance teams. Monitors and contributes to maximising the whole of life cycle equipment performance.
