2 Retail Assistant/Van Driver Restore Holt hours per week (including some Saturdays) 16, per annum per hour plus employer pension scheme We are looking to recruit a Retail Assistant/Van Driver to work in our Holt Furniture Store. Duties include: driving the van, collecting donated furniture/white goods and delivering sold items to customers. Applicants should have excellent customer service skills and knowledge and experience of working in retail as the role also includes working in the furniture store. The Holt branch is one of our furniture reuse stores which is operated by the Benjamin Foundation s Trading Company Ben s Social nterprises Ltd. We have other stores selling good quality furniture and electrical goods in Norwich and Holt. These stores take in donated items and the profits they make, help to fund all our other work for children, families and young people in Norfolk. The Benjamin Foundation fully embeds the Nurtured Heart Approach in all that it does and staff will adopt this approach as a part of their practice. To assist in the efficient and effective running of the social enterprise 2. To assist in all aspects of customer services and sales 3. To assist all other team members 4. To make appropriate decisions to ensure the quality of donations are maintained

4 Main duties Service Delivery 1. To carry out van duties including driving, collecting and delivering furniture 2. To arrange collections and deliveries 3. To load and unload the van 4. To sell store items to customers dealing with all aspects of the transaction 5. Ability to accurately handle and record cash transactions 6. To sort clean and repair donated items 7. Ability to assist in the lifting and carrying of furniture and other items Communication and Interpersonal Skills 1. To ensure that a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times 2. Present a positive and professional image when dealing with customers and potential customers 3. To answer the telephone and respond to customer queries 4. To recognise and maintain appropriate professional boundaries and relationships Internal Processes and Systems 1. After receiving required training, to carry out and record Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of electrical items 2. To record, display and price incoming stock within agreed guidelines 3. To help to ensure the health and safety of staff, volunteers and members of the public 4. To work within safety guidelines e.g. Fire regulations, manual handling 5. To meet all agreed team gift aid targets General 1. To maintain key relationships to high standards at all times 2. To undertake personal development and attend any relevant training 3. To undertake such other duties as may be delegated or assigned commensurate with the level of grading and role of the post 4.
