However, more often than not, financial management is usually given less attention or underemphasized, if not ignored, when the pressures of hitting the topline numbers and other marketing metrics come in. 2 This 2-day course on the financials of product management is about what will make product managers build the required knowledge and savvy in interpreting financial reports and using the same in successfully selling their marketing programs to higher management. Product managers can now communicate intelligently and confidently the underlying financial impact of their marketing and promotional initiatives and campaigns. Acquiring the know-how and skills of finance will certainly help not only to facilitate communication between Marketing and the other functional groups more particularly with Accounting and Finance, but also to manage the business better. 3 METHODOLOGY Interactive discussions, Power Point presentations, mini lectures (aided with presentations, videos as available), group work & discussions, simulated learning exercises and case problems and studies. PARTICIPANTS Product managers, product associates, product specialists, and other marketing or accounting practitioners, etc. FACILITATOR Marco Antonio Danga, CPA Marco is a Certified Public Accountant and a marketing practitioner. He brings in 10 years of experience from various industries, including fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and pharma. He started his career at Unilever Philippines, where he served as Finance Business Partner for Customer Development as well as Brand Building for several personal care categories. He went on to work at Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines as Key Accounts Finance Manager, heavily involved in supporting the Modern Trade distribution business, before joining United Laboratories Inc. There he served as Finance Manager for Distribution, generics business, and Customer Health. Marco eventually assumes a marketing role, being involved in business development for non-traditional channels and product portfolio management for several wellness brands and customer platforms. Marco is a consistent Dean s Lister at the De La Salle University Manila where he took a dual course in Bachelor of Arts, Major in Communication Arts and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. He is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer at the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Inc. (PICPA) the general professional organization for CPAs in the Philippines.
