4 Description of department/division The Professional Standards and Compliance team is accountable for how we develop and deliver quality, compliant, client-focused advice Solutions through our advisers and planners. Purpose of the role The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the National Compliance and Audit Program across all AMP licensees. The role requires execution of the Adviser Quality Reviews in the field within the guidelines of the adviser audit program. The role is designed to assist AMP manage licensee risk and compliance obligations that relate to planner advice, ongoing service and activity. An additional core purpose is to also assist and support planners in improving the quality of the advice and service they provide to clients and to assist them in managing their business risk and compliance obligation through support of the advice process. The role also requires the incumbent to assist the National Manager, Advisory Services and Quality Advice to manage initiatives, projects and reporting associated with the audit and vetting activities being conducted. Main focus areas Delivery of the adviser audit program by completing adviser quality reviews, providing accurate feedback, relevant coaching and timely written reports to advisers within the Licensees mentioned Identification of systemic issues and appropriate reporting and delivery of remedial training and assistance. Ensure advisers satisfy all regulatory and legal requirements Ensure advisers complete all remedial actions arising from the audit Implementation of AMP Advice directed compliance policies Assistance with due diligence by conducting file reviews and compliance interviews for new adviser recruits to AMP Advice licenses. Act as escalation point for questions and support needed by Quality Assurance Managers and by advisers. Participate in team exercises to improve knowledge in the areas of legislation, strategy and licensee standards. Respond to requests from Advice Governance to provide in depth analysis of adviser businesses and advice they may have provided. Engage with relevant stakeholders such as Practice Managers and Heads of Financial Planning with regard to audit outputs
5 Role specific capabilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong time management organisational skills Strong ability to work independently and make informed and commercial decisions Ability to identify risk and escalate appropriately, including the ability to work with management to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and solutions Ability to provide constructive feedback to Advisers, Practices and internal stakeholders Ability to interact at all levels of an organisation Knowledge of the financial services industry and practice High level of business acumen and business planning skills Operational risk expertise Strong and current understanding of governance, reporting, regulatory and legislative issues Experience required Minimum 3 years experience in advice and/ or compliance related field preferably in a financial planning audit, vetting, paraplanning or training role Strong knowledge of the financial services/financial planning industry and practice Strong understanding and knowledge of the compliance process as it relates to financial planning Sound knowledge of the principles of quality advice provision, regulatory and compliance obligation and risk management. Sound knowledge and understanding of ASIC Code of Practice, Corporations Act and other relevant legislation. Qualification/s required Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (ADFS) Cert IV in Mortgage Broking (preferred) Other Tertiary qualifications relevant to the field of financial planning and advice preferred.
