Under Component 1, the initiatives undertaken to modernize and improve its management capacity and financial systems have resulted in a 33% increase in revenue collections, which helped maintain fiscal equilibrium in the municipal government. The municipal government has Page 1 of 5

2 finalized the municipal Drainage Master Plan and the municipal Water Supply and Sanitation Plan and, as a result of the project's support, is now in compliance with the federal WSS law. Under Component 2, the integrated urban civil works (macro drainage, urban redevelopment, water supply and sanitation) in Area 1 of the Lagoas do Norte region are expected to be completed by December 20, The Lagoas do Norte Park has been inaugurated since July 2012, and is being widely used by the surrounding community as well as by others from throughout the city. The Project is in compliance with its loan covenants and has no ongoing fiduciary, environmental, social or other safeguard issues. A formal request was received to prepare an Additional Financing (AF) loan for the project, and its preparation has started.
