1 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Reports To: Location: Job level: Digital Communications Officer Digital Communications Manager Leeds Grade E Date Prepared: August 2017 PURPOSE Support the organisation in the management of the NHS Confederation and NHS Employers websites, intranet, marketing and social media channels. NATURE & SCOPE Including Dimensions The digital team are part of the Communications and Commercial Services directorate and are responsible for the delivery of a digital communications strategy across the NHS Confederation. This includes the day to day management of all the NHS Confederation websites, newsletters, intranet and social media. The digital team s role is to support staff in creating and updating new web content and communications maximising the use of this key communications strategy. This role will report to the Digital Communications Manager and will be responsible for: Supporting staff across the organisation in using the web content management system and intranet content management system. Supporting the management of our corporate social media channels. Preparing statistical information on web traffic and usage to support timely and informed decision making about web and social media services. Sourcing and re-sizing images for use on our websites, social media and intranets. Working with digital team colleagues to produce engaging digital design for use across web, social media and print channels. Working with digital team colleagues to produce engaging interactive solutions for online content delivery and engagement. As well as working closely with the digital communications team this role involves working with staff across the organisation including Communications team colleagues, Media, HR, Marketing, Programme, Policy and Membership teams..

2 STRUCTURE CHART To follow. ACCOUNTABILITIES Supporting the management of our corporate social media channels. Provide statistical data and analysis on our online performance using Google analytics and other reporting tools enabling staff to see how their areas of the website and social media channels are performing and where improvements can be made. Develop online surveys and polls and banner ads to enhance our websites and improve the user experience. Liaise with staff on deadlines and timings for communicating information to staff and ensure that content added to the website and intranet is appropriate and the right communications channel is being used. Support staff in using the web content management system to ensure staff are making the most of online communications. Support the digital team with digital development projects. Support the digital team to produce engaging imagery and design for use across the digital and print channels. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Including Career Path to role Excellent communication skills. Experience writing for the web. Experience working on an intranet and or external websites. Experience working with Social Media in a corporate environment. Experience using online analytics systems, Google analytics or similar. Experience using a web content management system, ideally Sitecore. Proficient in Photoshop. Knowledge of Adobe creative suite including InDesign beneficial but not Knowledge of social media channels. Basic knowledge of HTML. Knowledge of Microsoft office SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) beneficial but not Good organisational skills. SAFETY Health and Safety at Work Act
