1 CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS PURCHASING DEPARTMENT SOLICITATION ADDENDUM Addendum No. 7 DATE: August 22, 2018 TO: SOLICITATION NO.: TITLE: OPENING DATE: All Potential Bidders ITB RC Construction of New Tennis Center Clubhouse FRIDAY, August 31, 3:00PM NEW BID OPENING DATE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 3:00PM This Addendum is and does become a part of the above-mentioned Solicitation. 1. The City received from a potential Bidder a product substitution request for the Jax Beach Series Metal roofing to be considered an approved equal to the material specified on the Invitation to Bid. After reviewing the material specifications provided with the architect, the City has rejected the product as an approved equal because the potential Bidder only provided a warranty on the Kynar finish. There was no 30-year No Dollar Limit Warranty that covers both the product and workmanship provided. 2. Please see attached revised electrical plans reducing the number of emergency backup lights. 3. The following questions were received from a potential Bidder and the responses are provided as shown. Question 1: Alternates 14 & 15 mention landscape & fencing. Isn t this work to be by the City? Alternates 14 and 15 reference the service yard and gas lines. Please ensure the correct Pricing Schedule is being used, which was issued with the original bid release. The City will be responsible for installing landscaping inside and outside of the project limits, as well as fencing outside of the project limits only. Page 1 of 6

Section 2500 was issued as part of Addendum 3. Please advise. Section is no longer applicable to the project. Please mark as NOT USED. Section 2/A307 notes foam on top of the T&G wood decking at the heavy timber roof, is this correct? Shouldn t rigid insulation be used at this area? Please advise. Correct. Rigid Insulation should be used above T&G wood decking. Please clarify specification Wood Treatment. Other than termite treatment of the slab, we don t see where this specification applies, for wood sill plates, & cellulosic sheathing within 24 inches contact with foundation? Applies to any wood used in installing/shimming exterior windows. Will bidders be required to comply with section 1.05.B correct defective work within a twenty-five-year period? i. If so, how is it possible to quantify this? ii. And isn t the [City] responsible to provide for retreatment at specific intervals? Termite protection Section 1.05.B should read for a period of five (5) years. What is the lumber specie to be used for Wood Decking, section C? Space is blank. Is it per Structural plans? Yes. Southern Pine #1 for stained decking and Southern Pine #2 for painted trusses/beams. Regarding the heavy timber frame roof & decking; a. Please provide specifications and information for the prefinished wood decking. Species per structural drawings. Southern Pine #1 grade with stain to match aluminum soffit as indicated on the drawings. Some of the heavy timber will be painted & some will be stained, and they are all the same grade & specie? Southern Pine #1 for stained decking and Southern Pine #2 for painted trusses/beams. Will painting and/or staining be compatible with the water borne pressure treatment specified? Some of our vendors are saying it shouldn t be treated, especially for interior use. Structural drawings calls for pressure treated exterior trusses. For interior trusses the detailing shows no direct connection between CMU/concrete and trusses. As such, no pressure treatment is needed. But if the final shop drawings indicated direct connection, such trusses will need to be treated. Communication with supplier indicated that exterior pressure treated wood is paintable. Page 2 of 6

Use PT-05 for interior ridge beam and PTX-01 for exterior ridge beam. For the metal soffit panels, please specify the following; a. Which system shall be used? Snap together or cladding system. b. Which size of panel shall be used? 4 sizes are available. Use interlocking cladding system 6 150mm wide. Please provide a list & quantity of all equipment Contractor will be required to install as noted in specification B. Disregard Specification B. The City is responsible for purchasing and installing all computers, POS, phones and TVs. Please clarify, specifications list exterior sun control devices & awnings, however we can find awnings at 4 locations on the west elevation. There are four (4) vertical shades and four (4) awnings within the project scope. Plans show paddle fans throughout. Are these to be furnished by others? If not, please provide catalog number. All exterior fans shall be included in the project scope and shall be Minka Aire Gauguin 52 Ceiling Fans (without light kit) per the attached specification sheet or equal. Bidders shall include in bid, and coordinate purchase and installation of the units. Interior small fans are not part of the project scope. GC to provide rough-in only. See answer to Question 16 below for large interior fans. Question 16: Question 17: Question 18: Question 19: Are the two Large Fans being furnished by others (The General Contractor, perhaps?). Large fans are part of the project scope. GC to include in bid, and coordinate purchase and installation of the units. Please confirm that all outdoor disconnects are to be of the NEMA 4 X configuration. Yes. All outdoor disconnects are to be NEMA 4 x configuration. Where is the location of the trash enclosure depicted AS-102 and is this to be included in proposal? Location is clearly marked on AS101. See far end of south parking lot. Yes, the trash enclosure renovations are to be included in the bid. Where is the location of the monument sign depicted on AS-102 and is this to be included in the proposal? Location is clearly marked on AS101 at the front door turnaround. Yes, the monument is to be included in the bid. Page 3 of 6

4 Question 20: AS-102 shows several areas that are marked as new with a detail stating existing pavers to remain. Please clarify. All areas shown as new shall be concrete sidewalk per drawings. Wherever stated Pavers to remain are deleted from plans. See revised AS-102. Question 21: AS-102 shows several areas that are marked new and under separate contract. Please clarify. Drawings are correct. Areas marked as Under separate contract will be contracted separately by the City. For example, the sidewalk and roadwork east of the building will be constructed under a separate contract. Both civil and architecture plans depict what is under the GC s contract. Question 22: Question 23: Question 24: Question 25: Question 26: Question 27: AS-102 is the fire lane marking to be included in base bid? No. All roadwork including pavement marking is part of the contract by others. The motorized sun shade keynote 5 on A-106 please clarify model number, location, color and type of fabric, etc. Reference sheet A601 for motorized sun shade location and product specs. Reference spec section for product. Fabric to be White Pearl What is the finish schedule for the interior and exterior stairs? Interior stairwell walls to be painted PT-01. Interior stair treads and risers to be T-01. Exterior stairs to be non-slip concrete finish with only upper landing to be T- 01. Interior stair to have Schluter nosing Trep-B-GS at first and last step of each run and Trep S-NB at all intermediate steps. Provide Trep-B-GC at all exterior stairs top landing termination. For the kitchen equipment, is there a written specification with further clarification of the construction, finishes, accessories, etc. for the listed equipment? We see one for trash compactors but not any other equipment. Please refer to attached kitchen equipment information sheets. All units are listed as specific products. See kitchen equipment schedule. Walk-in cooler additional accessory was listed as part of Addendum No. 6. Please confirm if all outdoor disconnects are to be NEMA 4 X configuration. See Question 17 for answer. Folding partition supplier has informed us that a pre-punched I beam will be required to support the folding partition tracks, however we do not see this on the plans, please clarify. Yes, pre-punched beams will be required. Please include pricing in your bid proposal. The exact location will be determined during shop drawing process. The size and location of bolts will vary depending on the operable partition selected. Bidder to include recommended configuration from their proposed operable partition provider. Page 4 of 6

It was mentioned in the pre-bid meeting that the city maybe doing this work and we don t see sitework listed on the pricing schedule. Bidder to provide full scope of drainage work. The Pricing Schedule has been amended to add Divisions 31 to 33 Site Work. See attached Revised Bid Submittal. This Revised Bod Submittal must be used to submit your bid. Bids that are not submitted using the Revised Bid Submittal will be deemed non-responsive. Will thermal break & urethane insulation be required for the 2 indoor walk-in cooler slabs as shown for outdoor cooler? No. The cooler does not require under slab insulation. The freezer portion will have a raised floor with ramp and built-in insulation. What is the manufacturer & model number for the shoe cleaner Bidders are required to provide listed on pg. A601? Correction to Sheet A601: The shoe cleaner (Tread Blaster) will be provided and installed by the City. The GC shall only provide a hose bib at location where noted. Wall section 4/A303 calls for insulation board at perimeter of foundation. Will this be required? Yes. Regarding exposed T&G decking & metal soffit panels, please clarify the following; a. Is the exposed T&G decking to extend out to roof edge at timber frame roof as indicated on 5/S401 or will metal panels be used as indicated on A104? b. Are MET-03 & MTL-03 the same material? We don t see MET-03 listed on the plans. Yes. Metal panels will be used as indicated on A104, directly applied to the T&G which is part of the roof structure system. Yes, MET-03 is the same material as MTL-03. Question 33: What are the locations of the corner guards noted in spec section ? Corner guards to be located at all outside corners not receiving tile finish. Question 34: Question 35: For the retractable screens, please provide mounting details for mounting of the coil & side tracks. Retractable screens specified without side tracks. Attachment to beams per manufacture installation instructions. With the 6 addendums received, an RFI not yet been answered, and this RFI, we request the bid due date be extended to allow bidders time to distribute and receive responses from subcontractors. The due date and time for bids is extended to September 7, 2018 at 3:00PM. Page 5 of 6
