4 HUNTINGDON COUNTY SR 7206(SMB) #92121 PROPOSAL:$18.96 PLANS:$ X18:$ X36:$93.60 X-SEC:$ X18:$ X36:$7.80 The description and location of the project is as follows: This project involves the rehabilitation of Huntingdon County Bridge No. 8 (St. Mary s Bridge) over Shade Creek in order to prolong the life of the bridge while maintaining the historical aesthetics of the structure. This project includes sandblasting and painting of the existing steel beams and other exposed rusted steel superstructure components. The deteriorated timber components will be replaced and all the remaining timber components will be cleaned and painted. The entire timber wearing surface, the timber curb, and the nail laminated deck will also be replaced. Also, any loose tin roof sheets will be secured and a tar coating applied to the entire roof. Any cracks in the existing substructure will be repaired by pressure mortar pointing and the anchor rods will be tightened or replaced. The contractor will be required to jack-up the structure to repair/replace the bearings at both abutments and repair a sag in the truss. MBE 2%, WBE 4%, Anticipated Notice to Proceed , Required Completion BERKS COUNTY SR 176(002) #58174 PROPOSAL:$29.64 PLANS:$ X18:$ X36:$1, X-SEC:$ X18:$ X36:$ This S.R. 176 project section (002) begins just south of the Norfolk-Southern bridges and extends to just south of the S.R. 422 interchange ramp bridge in Cumru Township, Berks County. The project involves full depth reconstruction and a slight horizontal and vertical realignment of the existing roadway to meet current design criteria and provide the lane configuration to accommodate the anticipated future traffic volumes. The limit of reconstruction is approximately from Sta to , beginning Segment 104, Offset 1747 Northbound and Segment 105 Offset 1743 Southbound and ending Segment 110 Offset 1872 Northbound and Segment 111 Offset 1866 Southbound. The project length is 2,583 ft. (0.49 mile). The proposed six-lane configuration will require construction of a considerably shorter and wider single span bridge with the remaining void of the existing structure backfilled with suitable embankment material. Partial reconstruction of the S.R. 422 ramps will be required at the northern limit and to the south, temporary pavement widening will be required. ALSO I-176/SR 422 BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECT WILL BE PART OF THIS PROJECT AS CHILD PROJECT, SCOPE IS AS FOLLOW Bridge superstructure replacement carrying SR 0176 over SR 0422 in BERKS County, Cumru Township. Work is to be performed in multiple construction stages which will maintain one lane in each direction. Removal of existing and erection of new concrete beams will require short term closures of SR 0422 and will be completed in night work.
