The cost of all work contained herein shall be included in the Contract sum. 3 University of Akron ADDENDUM NO. 002 Zook Hall Renovation Phase 2A Abatement & Demolition Project No. UAK Page 1 Date: June 26, 2014 Addendum No. 001 to the Plans and Specifications for: Stantec Architecture Inc Park East Drive, Suite 200 Cleveland, OH This Addendum varies the Bidding and Contract Documents dated and titled: University of Akron Zook Hall Renovation Phase 2A Abatement & Demolition This Addendum shall form part of the Contract Documents and is to be read, interpreted and coordinated with all other parts. The cost of all work contained herein shall be included in the Contract sum. The following revisions supersede the information contained in the original specifications and drawings issued for the above-named project. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by inserting its number, date and pages in Bid Form 1.0 General Clarifications 1. Trucks entering and leaving the site for the purpose of delivering and/or hauling dumpsters to and from the site should use the following route and times: Follow Carroll Street, and take Sumner Street north; past Ayer Hall and the Auburn Science & Engineering Center. Access is limited to between the times of 5:00pm and 7:00am. The maximum allowable dumpster size for use on site is 30 cubic yards. There are some telecom vaults underneath the brick walkway and commons area that will need to be marked off and avoided by the construction vehicles and dumpsters; but otherwise trucks can utilize the brick paver sidewalks for truck traffic for the purposes of delivery and pickup of roll off boxes. 2. See the attached sketch clarifying the staging area for the demolition and abatement dumpsters. 3. The Abatement Contractor is to have exclusive use of the entire building during their phase of work from 8/26/2014 through 10/3/ The majority of the floor tile mastic is to be removed by shot blast method. Chemical solvents may be used only on a limited basis where the shot blast machine is unable to access; i.e. along walls, pipe penetrations, and other obstructions.

The chalkboard mastic was assumed to be asbestos as noted in the written report and will not be tested. It s to remain as part of the Abatement Contractor s scope of work. 6. Existing roof drains shall remain in place during this phase, and it will not be the responsibility of this Demolition package to return after new roof drains are installed to remove the existing roof drains and stacks. 7. This demolition package includes the infill of all pipe shafts, existing ductwork floor penetrations, and pipe sleeve penetrations. Pipe sleeves are to be cut flush and in filled with concrete to match the adjacent floor surface. This demolition package does not include any infill areas for the stairwells or elevator floor openings; those areas are to be left open. 8. This demolition package does not include patching of any exterior masonry or stone. The existing exterior vents are to be left in place and all equipment and piping is to be taken out up to the exterior wall. 9. Where the plaster finish is directly adhered to the inside face of the exterior perimeter walls the plaster finish does not need to be removed or taken back to the masonry structure. 10. The Lecture Hall ceilings do not need to be patched, repaired and/or replaced where they have been removed for the purposes of accessing the required mechanical, plumbing and electrical work that is to be removed. Contractor to protect all adjacent surfaces. 2.0 SPECIFICATIONS 2.1 DOCUMENT SUMMARY OF WORK ADD 1.01B. 2d - Demolition contractor to provide temporary stair access (not ladders) to all floors and roof for the duration of the contract. This is required for Owner, Architect and CM access. 2.2 DOCUMENT SUMMARY OF WORK ADD 1.01B. 2e - Demolition contractor to provide temporary protection measures and barricades around all floor openings to remain including elevator and stairwells. These are to be left in place when in contract is complete. These will be removed and retained in a future contract. 2.3 DOCUMENT Milestone Schedule Revise 1.2 B 1.b - Submit detailed schedule 7 days from notice to proceed.
