Five wipe samples of 100 cm 2 areas each were collected from dust on various affected items. These wipe samples were analyzed utilizing TEM analysis. Originally our sampling strategy was based on sampling the items in each of the two offices. However, it is our understanding that the items from the two offices were moved in a single unit mixed onto the same cart during transport between buildings. These samples were analyzed by Crisp Analytical Laboratories, Inc., a NAVLAP accredited, independent testing facility located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. (NVLAP # , TDSHS Lab License ). The laboratory results from Crisp Laboratories for this project are presented in Attachment A. The analytical results indicate the following: Three of the five samples collected tested positive for the presence of asbestos containing dust. Although the items tested in only one room tested positive, since the items were commingled during transport, all items could have been cross contaminated. Therefore, both offices will need to be cleaned and the affected items either cleaned or discarded. This report was prepared for the exclusive use of Bastrop County and is not intended for any other purpose. Our report is based on the information available to us at this time. The test results relate only to the items described and tested herein. These results are submitted pursuant to CA Labs current terms and condition of sale, including the company s standard warranty and limitation of liability provisions and no responsibility or liability is assumed for the manner in which the results are used or interpreted. Unless notified in writing to return the samples covered by this report, CA Labs will store the samples for a period of ninety days before discarding.
