T ensure yur retail facility is fully prepared fr this pwerful new tl, we re prviding sme imprtant infrmatin abut the prcess and steps that need t be cmpleted befre and during installatin. Please read this dcument carefully and cntact us at with any questins. Installatin Overview Cmmunicatin Within 5 business days f placing yur IDDN rder, ur installatin cmpany will call the Primary cntact we have n file t review the fllwing: Cnfirm the cntact(s) t schedule installatin with are still crrect and make any necessary changes Review the current rder n file t cnfirm the lcatin(s) f the CPU(s) and if there will be any changes required based n final lcatin f the CPU(s) based n length f CAT6 netwrk cable(s) (if splitting the CPU t 2 mnitrs) alng with where the CPU(s) will be lcated at the dealership (i.e. in a data clset r behind the mnitr) Cnfirm ceiling heights t dealership structure (if applicable fr ceiling munted units) and remind dealership f the ceiling prep wrk they will be required t cmplete prir t installatin Cnfirm if dealership will be prviding needed scissr lift r if DCI will need t rent NOTE: If any changes are required t the rder based n the rder review, DCI will wrk with the dealership t prperly update yur rder recmmendatin and will send t the Primary cntact fr re-apprval Once the rder is finalized per abve, DCI s installatin cmpany will btain an installatin date and call the primary cntact t schedule the installatin Once the installatin date has been scheduled with the Primary cntact, they will be sent an with the cnfirmed install date and time in additin t this checklist and the specificatin sheets fr splitting mnitrs and pwer and data placements fr the varius munt types available The Primary and/r Secndary Cntact wh are authrized t answer and sign ff fr wrk n the Dealership s behalf will need t be present at install start, available thrughut the day, and again at install cmpletin t sign ff n all wrk cmpleted. It is als highly recmmended that yur IT cntact be available during the installatin t answer any dealership netwrk questins r issues that may arise The Dealership will need t review and cmplete the items n the pre-installatin checklist belw prir t installatin. It is imperative these steps are fllwed and cmplete befre the installer arrives t avid any delays r abrt/rembilizatin fees The Primary cntact will be cntacted apprximately 15 business days prir t installatin t review the same items as per abve and cnfirm the facility will be ready by the scheduled installatin date Apprximately 5 business days prir t yur installatin date, the mnitrs and hardware fr ur installers will arrive at yur dealership. Please als advise all staff t have the mnitrs stred upright and under n circumstance stack them r put items n tp f the cartns. Be aware the mnitr cartns are large and require an adequate amunt f space fr secure strage NOTE: frm the time the screens/hardware arrive at the dealership, until the time the installers arrive, the dealership is liable fr any/all prduct that is damaged r ges missing The Primary cntact will be called 5 days prir t yur scheduled install date t cnfirm all dealership prep wrk has been cmpleted, r will be cmpleted by yur install date PLEASE NOTE: DCI requires 3 business days ntice t cancel r re-schedule yur installatin date withut penalty. Please advise ur scheduling divisin n this call if yu feel the site will nt be ready t avid any ptential delays/additinal charges with re-scheduling r abrted installatin trips Day f Installatin The IDDN installatin can take anywhere frm hurs t cmplete depending upn the dealership s rder and the types f munts being installed. Fr lcatins with mre than 5 CPU s/mnitrs, it is likely the installatin culd last smewhere between 8-12 hurs. If this will present a prblem fr the dealership and yu wuld prefer t split the installatin between 2 days r inquire abut vernight installatin, please cntact DCI at NOTE: Additinal charges will apply fr multiple day r vernight installatins The Installatin lead assigned t yur lcatin will call the cntact we have n file apprximately minutes prir t their arrival the day f yur scheduled installatin; they are als instructed t leave a vice mail if yu are unavailable, advising their estimated time f arrival On the day f installatin, the installatin team (2-3 installers depending n items rdered) will arrive at yur lcatin and will identify themselves frm DCI-Artfrm and ask fr the Primary r Secndary Cntact we have n file fr yur facility Prir t installatin, the install crew will ask the primary cntact t walk the dealership and cnfirm all mnitr placements per yur initial assessment, and cnfirm all prep wrk has been cmpleted based n the dealership s rder The Primary cntact will need t advise the install crew which area shuld be installed first Shwrm r Service and advise f a hlding/staging area t wrk within the space Equipment, Safety, and Clean-up The dealership will need t have the equipment readily available fr the Install crew the mrning f the scheduled jb. If the Dealership is cncerned abut having lifts n their tile, they shuld plan t have plywd and blankets n site fr ur crew t lay dwn under the lift t help prtect it If blankets and plywd are nt prvided and dealership will nt allw the install t cntinue, dealership is respnsible fr all applicable delay charges and/r rembilizatin fee t return NOTE: Fr safety and liability purpses, ur crews CANNOT use ladders r scafflding t install IDDN digital media where the tp f the mnitr wuld be at 8 r higher Dealership is required t prvide installers access t trash receptacles and recycling bins. Clean up will be cmpleted by install crew and take place during and after the installatin prcess The dealership will need t re-lcate any/all emplyees in clse prximity r directly in line f where IDDN Digital Media is being installed. Fr safety and liability purpses, DCI cannt install next t r verhead f where emplyees r custmers will be lcated. DCI installers will need t crdn ff the area in which they need t wrk t install the systems. If this presents a challenge fr the dealership, please cntact DCI t inquire abut alternative installatin arrangements. Registratin, Checkut, and Training Upn cmpletin f the physical installatin, ur Install lead will cntact ur Supprt team t register all devices and cnfirm displays are shwing the apprpriate templates fr the Shwrm and Service areas. Please ensure yur IT cntact is readily available t ur installatin crew t assist with any trubleshting necessary t prperly register yur CPUS. Delays incurred due t dealership internet r netwrk cnnectins, pwer, etc. may result in additinal charges fr additinal time required n-site t cmplete yur installatin The primary cntact is required t be available at the time f jb cmpletin and will be asked t sign ff n all cmpleted wrk Our install crew will leave a Quick Start Reference Guide and, shuld the n-site cntact have the time, will take the n-site cntact thrugh lgging int the Dealership s digital media and shw them hw t make key changes t the screens Shuld the dealership cntact nt be available fr tutrial n the client prtal, please lgin t enter yur BAC cde fr username and passwrd and nce in the site, launch the training vide t review hw t make changes t yur IDDN digital media. These tasks are the respnsibility f the Dealership t prperly prepare their lcatin fr the IDDN installatin: Cnfirm the Primary and Secndary Cntacts fr the Dealership will be available. Please cntact DCI at t advise if there are any changes r alternate cntacts that we will need t have n file fr yur installatin r wh will be designated n yur scheduled install date Review yur IDDN Digital Media Order. G t: and cnfirm yur rder is still crrect. Shuld yu have any changes yu wuld like t make, cntact DCI immediately at t advise and submit yur request. NOTE: Additinal charges and/r a pstpned install date may be incurred by the dealership fr changes made later in the prcess Review and cnfirm all IDDN Digital Media lcatins in yur shwrm and service areas. Make sure any/all designated n site cntacts are aware f the lcatins fr all systems. Shuld there be any questins r changes requested, please cntact DCI at immediately t advise Inquire with yur municipality s fire department if lcating a mnitr near a fire alarm, extinguisher, sprinkler, r fld light. The dealership is respnsible t cnfirm all lcal cdes in this regard. Shuld a current lcatin nt be cmpliant with lcal cde, the dealership shuld cntact DCI immediately t lk at alternate lcatin ptins fr the applicable IDDN digital media PRIOR t installatin. Shuld Dealership wish t prceed with installatin as planned, a liability waiver/hld harmless agreement is required t be signed by an authrized dealership cntact. DCI is nt liable fr lcal inspectin citatins r cde cmpliance. Cnfirm yu rdered the crrect scissr lift and it will deliver the mrning f yur scheduled installatin: (DISREGARD if yu have a scissr lift rental n yur rder as DCI will be crdinating this) Make sure yu rdered a minimum 19 r 26 electric scissr lift that can accmmdate up t 3 peple and a mnitr with a weight capacity f up t 700 lbs. r mre If the Dealership is cncerned abut having lifts n their tile, they shuld plan t have plywd and blankets n site fr ur crew t lay dwn under the lift t help prtect it NOTE: Fr safety and liability purpses, ur crews CANNOT use ladders r scafflding t install IDDN digital media where the tp f the mnitr wuld be at 8 r higher Lifts are als required fr all ceiling munted units If yu prefer t have DCI crdinate the lift rental, please call us at at least 2 weeks in advance f yur install date and we will add it t yur rder. DCI lift rental charge is $ Make sure all Electrical and Data are cmplete. Prir t yur installatin date, electrical and internet cnnectins fr all Digital Media systems being installed in yur facility must be in place, live, and active. All data lines must be cmplete and cnnected t the facilities netwrk switch with plates installed ready fr plug in. In additin, all internet cnnectins must be hard-wired* (*Flr stand fr shwrm is nly munt that can be n a wireless internet cnnectin). NOTE: this cannt be n a Guest r Custmer Wi-Fi netwrk and must have a minimum speed f 2 Mbps. In additin, it shuld nt require user interactin (i.e. prmpt user t accept terms and cnditins, etc.), it must stay cnnected. Please be prepared t prvide yur wireless netwrk infrmatin t the install crew the mrning f yur installatin. 6 GM In-Dealership Digital Netwrk (IDDN) Dealer Pre-Installatin & Installatin Day Requirements and Checklist (1) 120v AC pwer utlet (duplex utlet) and (1) CAT6 netwrk drp needs t be prvided by the Dealership fr each Media Player(CPU) and mnitr lcatin NOTE: Outlets shuld be installed flush with the dealership wall (utlets SHOULD NOT be recessed r surface munted prtruding frm the dealership wall) NOTE: If Media player (CPU) is ging t be installed in a data clset r ther rm, a mnitr will need t be supplied by the Dealership fr installatin set up and trubleshting Fr mnitrs larger than 55, it is recmmended the electrical and data cnnectin be installed at a minimum f frm the flr (depending n hw high the ceilings are). This will allw the bttm f the 85 mnitr t be apprximately 52 frm the flr. Please refer t the pwer/data schematics attached t help calculate the crrect electrical and data utlet sites. Nte: the tp f any mnitr shuld be at least 6 frm the ceiling fr serviceability and user cnvenience Ensure all dealership netwrk prts remain pen and there are n firewall restrictins. Prts 80 and 443 must be allwed thrugh firewalls fr bth inbund and utbund traffic. In additin, please ensure the fllwing dmains are added as they will be used fr cntent management and remte access: *.dcim.cm *.dcimliveguide.cm *.lgme.in *.lgmein.cm *.s3.amaznaws.cm *.weather.gv *.azurewebsites.net If a Static IP Address is assigned, ALL netwrk cnfiguratins including the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway & DNS must be available t the installer PRIOR t the start f installatin. If a VLAN is designated fr the CPU, please have yur IT cntact DCI with any questins n this Ensure that yur IT has enabled all brwsers n yur netwrk, in particular Adbe Media Player. FOR SPLITTER KIT ORDERS ONLY: See attached GM IDDN Digital Media SPLITTER KIT Dealership Prep Wrk dcument fr schematics n lcating CPU behind a mnitr r in a data clset FOR CEILING MOUNTED SYSTEMS ONLY: DISREGARD if yu rdered a Wall munt, Crner munt r Flr stand.: Have yur structural Ceiling adapter munt system Installed alng with pwer and data. Prir t yur installatin date, it will be the dealerships respnsibility t attach the ceiling adapter munting cmpnent (receiver/plate) t their unique ceiling system structure. There are many different ceiling designs and structures within the retail facility envirnment. We recmmend having yur cntractr cmplete this installatin prcedure. This wrk shuld be dne in cnjunctin with running yur pwer and data fr the Digital Media in this area. We recmmend using a Peerless CMJ450 Suspended Ceiling Kit (link: ). This ceiling munt is extremely versatile and munts t DCI s Extensin Clumn frm Peerless. If it des nt, please cntact DCI t advise and cnfirm ur system will wrk with yurs r t determine if an alternate slutin is needed. If the Dealership has an OPEN r raftered ceiling, please cntact DCI at t advise s an alternate ceiling munt kit can be determined and rdered fr yur facility. Cnfirm yu have at least 6 8 f clearance fr all ceiling munted systems (7 6 is recmmended height) The maximum ceiling height fr a ceiling munt ptin is 20 Inspect all Mnitrs delivered t the Dealership. Advise the applicable staff wh receives in shipments that yur IDDN mnitr(s) and hardware kit(s) are cming prir t yur installatin date. Advise yur emplyee(s) t inspect the mnitr cartns upn delivery and if any clear physical cartn damage t refuse the mnitr shipment delivery and ntify DCI immediately at If mnitrs are nt refused at time f delivery, we will need the fllwing dcumentatin: Pht f serial tag n the unit (mnitr) (number must be readable) Pht f serial tag n the bx (number must be readable) Pht f full frnt view f the shipping cartn and the mnitr Pht f full back view f the shipping cartn and the mnitr Pht frm left side f shipping cartn and the mnitr Pht frm right side f shipping cartn and the mnitr Clear pht f the unit damage including any/all surrunding areas Cpy f the Prf f Delivery slip Remve all Dealership prperty in the areas yur IDDN Digital Media will be installed. All existing artwrk, mnitrs, shelving, r ther items, n the wall(s) where yur Digital Media will be installed must be cleared by the start f yur scheduled installatin. The Dealership is respnsible t remve, patch, paint, and prepare these areas prir t ur installer s arrival Re-lcate all emplyees r areas/displays/furniture where custmers wuld be interacting where yur IDDN Digital Media will be installed prir t yur scheduled installatin date. DCI cannt install next t r verhead f where emplyees r custmers will be lcated fr safety and liability purpses. Ensure these areas are cleared prir t yur scheduled installatin date Cntact DCI immediately if this wuld present an issue s ther arrangements can be made Remve/relcate vehicles, furniture, r ther dealership prperty frm the shwrm r service flr the mrning f yur scheduled installatin where the IDDN Digital Media will be installed. NOTE: DCI requires 3 business days ntice t re-schedule yur installatin. Shuld the installatin team arrive and the site is nt ready per all listed n this checklist and the jb is delayed r abrted, a $500 rembilizatin fee will be charged t cmplete at a later date.
