4 JOB DESCRIPTION REPORTING The post holder reports to the Marketing Manager PURPOSE OF THE POST Group sales and corporate promotions are central to vibrant marketing strategy at the heart of the Crewe Lyceum Theatre s continued growth as a destination venue for entertainment and dining in South Cheshire. The Marketing and Sales Officer will develop strong links with local leisure groups to increase group ticket sales and will maximise the Lyceum s relationship with local businesses. The scope of the job will embrace full contribution to the range of marketing and sales activity with a view to maximising sales and developing new audiences. The Marketing and Sales Officer directly supports the Marketing Manager in the achievement of agreed targets, standards and objectives. ACCOUNTABILITIES Contribute as required by the Marketing Manager to the achievement of the Lyceum Theatre s annual business plan and sales targets and objectives, with particular reference to achievement of targets for sales via lead generation and sales calls; Development and personal implementation of proactive activity and sales campaigns to generate group ticket sales and corporate bookings at the Lyceum; As directed by the Marketing Manager, management of the Lyceum Theatre s ticketing system, ensuring accuracy of information and maximisation of online sales (tickets, services and hospitality) and liaising with event promoters and external ticket agents; Development of the sales of Hospitality events (public events and private hire), and promotion of the Lyceum Restaurant and liaison with Hospitality team to ensure appropriate participation in relevant marketing and sales campaigns; Performance management, as directed by the Marketing Manager, of the ticket sales team for achievement of the Lyceum s ticketing, sales and customer service standards; Supervision of the Lyceum Ticket Office, including creating effective rotas, managing credit / debit card processing system, and handling customer enquiries; OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES From time to time, as directed by the Marketing Manager, other related marketing department duties and responsibilities as required 3

5 PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience of sales and lead generation in a target-based business to consumer (B2C) environment An interest in live entertainment and for the provision of excellent customer service The ability to perform well as part of a team, to take a lead role in projects and to identify and pursue opportunities in a self-directed manner Literacy, computer literacy (including proficiency in Microsoft Office) and numeracy appropriate to the requirements of the post High level communication skills and an excellent manner when dealing with the public, stakeholders and industry colleagues An ability to be flexible to business needs and work calmly and effectively under pressure A pro-active and positive approach to solving problems in a prompt and independent manner Willingness and availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as and when required DESIREABLE Experience of working within a CMS and CRM system Hours of Work 37 Hours per week, Monday- Friday Salary 19,500 per annum Application Please apply with CV and covering letter stating why you would like the job and send to admin@crewelyceum.co.uk Closing date for applications: 25 th August Interview: 7 th September at the Lyceum 4
