Why you should be there The DOP, founded in 1971, promotes the professional interests of occupational psychologists. It is one of the largest member networks of the British Psychological Society. We aim to develop psychology as a profession and as a body of knowledge and skills. We help support divisional members with training and advice, hold regular events, and contact members with updates and news throughout the year. The Division of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference is part of the BPS governing body and is seen as a highly reputable event. 4 About the DOP Conference The conference theme for 2014 will be Investing in the Future and we see the conference as an engine for positive change within our profession, as well as a welcoming environment for ideas and discussions around the future of research, our profession, the organisation, employees and also how occupational psychology can contribute to our future communities. The conference actively promotes networking and will assist in establishing a network of occupational psychologists who will constitute the next generation of academics and practitioners and the future of the field. Our aim is to combine science and practice together, ensuring a stronger association between the two separate establishments. The team is also working hard to provide an even more rewarding conference experience for all delegates. 10 The venue The Grand, Brighton The hotel stands proud on Brighton s seafront, boasts panoramic sea views and is just a stones throw away from the famous Lanes, restaurants, theatres and nightlife. The iconic 201 bedroom property is has recently transformed with a multi-million pound investment which includes the refurbishment of all guest rooms, lounge areas and events spaces.
