1 Job description Job title Department Responsible to Remit of the post covers Salary Hours Based at: Time to Change Employer Programme Manager Time to Change Head of Workplace Wellbeing Programmes, Mind England Grade E of Mind s salary bands. 35 hours per week Stratford, London Length of contract FTC until March 2021 Purpose of the job Time to Change is an ambitious programme to change the way we think and act about mental health and end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems. It is a campaign run in partnership between the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness and is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care, Comic Relief and the Big Lottery Fund using National Lottery funding. Now in its third phase, the work of the Time to Change Employer team focuses on: Engaging and supporting new employers to sign the TTC Employer Pledge, an aspirational commitment to tackling mental health stigma and discrimination within their workplace, backed up by a detailed action plan. Employers are provided with bespoke, time limited, tailored and focused support as they develop their action plan, sign the Pledge, and begin to implement and embed their anti-stigma messages and work to improve policy and practice. Identifying, training and supporting Time to Change Champions to raise awareness of mental health and campaign to stop stigma and discrimination in the workplace. Training and supporting local Time to Change hubs (groups of local organisations and mental health champions) across the different regions of England to help change the way people think and act about mental health in their communities. As the TTC Employer Programme Manager, you will lead on the development and implementation of all aspects of the Time to Change Employer campaign, working closely with a range of key stakeholders to ensure its success. You will work closely with the wider Time to Change team to ensure sustainability and legacy of the programme. Scope of the job As Time to Change Employer Programme Manager you will manage the implementation of this component of the wider Time to Change Campaign. You will ensure the effective delivery of all aspects of the campaign; you will be the lead contact for internal Time to Change stakeholders and carry out work to engage a wide range of employers with the Time to Change campaign,

2 including in target sectors; you will manage five direct reports and be responsible for campaign sustainability and external communications. This role will need to work cross organisationally with a range of stakeholders, and manage programme plans, delivery and evaluation. You will support the TTC Employer Engagement Managers to deliver a programme of time-bound and focussed support to pledging employees and the Senior Employee Champions Officer to engage with people with and without their own experience of a mental health problem to deliver anti-stigma activity in their workplaces. You will also engage with the wider Time to Change campaign maximizing opportunities for campaign impact. Your work will be supported by the Employer Team Coordinator and the Head of Workplace Wellbeing Programmes (Delivery) will be responsible for and have oversight of the Time to Change Employer Programme. Mind aims to ensure that the needs and interests of people with mental health problems, people with disabilities, women, men, black and minority ethnic communities, lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender and people of all ages are reflected in all its activities. You will be expected to contribute to this aim. Key responsibilities 1. To lead on the development, delivery and sustainability of the Time to Change Employer team campaign, ensuring the project plan is delivered on time, to high standards and within budget. 2. Build high quality strategic relationships with a wide range of employers to encourage them to sign the Time to Change pledge, supporting their action plan development, and after signing, their participation in the Employer Team and wider campaign activities, leading on specific employer focussed projects e.g. FTSE 100/Small-medium sized enterprises, wider reach within the community. 3. Support the Employer Engagement Managers, to plan and deliver a programme of employer engagement activity to meet targets. This includes securing ambitious new numbers of pledged organisations including from target sectors, providing bespoke and time-bound support to these organisations, supporting organisations to link with others to share best practice, refine existing collateral to enable organisations to undertake anti-stigma activity independently and supporting people with mental health problems and those without, acting as Employee Champions within their workplace. 4. Line manage two Employer Engagement Managers, Employer Team Coordinator (2 part time team members) and the Senior Employee Champion Officer to support them in the delivery of their work and delegate responsibilities as appropriate. Conduct annual appraisals and hold regular one-to-one supervisions to monitor their progress and oversee their professional development. 5. Co-ordinate the programme team s external and internal communications, and engagement with the wider TTC campaign including stakeholder management of employers who could further support TTC beyond the employer team work. 6. To work in an integrated way with all Time to Change staff and colleagues across the programme to deliver an effective programme that meets the overall programme outcomes for change amongst adults, children and young people and their families. This includes ensuring that Time to Change Employers work is linked to the development of local hubs, and the growth of the Time to Change children and young people s work with schools.

Ensure fully integrated promotion, planning and delivery with all Managers of Time to Change projects and the Central Management Team, and wider Workplace Wellbeing (e.g. the Blue light Programme) by working effectively together on planning and delivery. 8. Regularly review performance against targets and budgets (including re-forecasting) providing regular activity and financial reports for the management and governance teams and funders, detailing delivery against targets, and provide regular internal communications on partner engagement across the programme. 9. To manage relationships with (or delegate effective management of) sub-contractors and partners e.g. for evaluation; ensuring that they deliver to plan within agreed timescales and budget. 10. Ensure the views of people with experience of mental health problems inform and guide the work of the Employers project and actively seek opportunities to involve people with lived experience in delivery. 11. Represent Time to Change at pledge signing, employer events, conferences and events with policy makers, the media and others. 12. Contribute to Mind s overall Workplace Wellbeing strategy and represent Mind s Workplace Wellbeing team at meetings and conferences when necessary. 13. Undertake other duties that may from time to time be necessary, and that are compatible with the nature and grade of this post.

To attend and contribute to the training, supervision and appraisal process. 8. To abide by the principles of the Data Protection Act with regards to confidentiality and security of Mind s work as appropriate. 9. To use the organisation s resources effectively and efficiently. 10. The nature of the post will require flexibility. 11. To contribute towards making Mind a greener workplace. 12. To adhere to relevant legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act.

5 Mind (National Association for Mental Health) Person specification: TTC Employer Programme Manager Essential criteria 1. Extensive experience of campaign / project management with a proven track record of delivery at a senior level, using programme and project management methodology 2. Ability to develop partnerships of substance and maintain excellent working relationships with organisations across a range of sectors. 3. Proven ability to proactively and systematically target prospects by identifying an appropriate strategy to persuade and influence them to take action 4. Proven experience of line management and of managing a team to achieve ambitious targets 5. Successful track record of developing proposals and pitching these to potential supporters/customers at board and management level. 6. Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and written communication skills 7. Experience of financial and budget management including planning; developing; forecasting; setting, monitoring, reviewing and reporting on budgets. 8. Excellent planning and organisation skills to be able to plan and organise work and to deliver work to agreed timescales and standards, using own initiative and being flexible and adaptable. 9. Good decision making skills and confident in making operational decisions. 10. Demonstrable knowledge of the issues facing people with mental health problems and a good understanding of engagement of people with experience of mental health problems to influence policy and practice. 11. Understanding of what Equal Opportunities means in relation to this programme and the ability to incorporate this into all aspects of delivery. 12. Willingness and ability to travel and have occasional overnight stays in England and Wales 13. Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 14.
