Lead the expanding Business ngagement, Partnership Development and Commercialisation teams to accelerate opportunities and manage the integration of related activities across central and faculty based professional service teams. Develop and deliver a broad and coherent provision for business through the development of SM programmes, including KTPs, and clear routes of access to university expertise, IP and facilities. ct as the University s professional service lead in authoring, project managing, negotiating and delivering strategic and high profile institutional and collaborative funding applications, submissions and consultations. 2 Key Tasks Business Partnerships Lead, manage and develop innovative and productive regional and national partnerships and networks across key sectors. Develop innovative and effective mechanisms to support two-way knowledge sharing with business and industry partners, in support of the priorities of the University and of Centres of Research and Knowledge xchange. Develop and maintain effective relationships with funders of innovation and enterprise (including Innovate-UK) Lead, manage and oversee high value and high prestige institutional level awards ensuring funder compliance and reporting uthor, project manage and deliver institutional-level innovation and business engagement programmes Develop wide regional networks across universities, government and business to enhance, support and inform the University s development programmes for SMs. Business Development Develop initiatives to promote and grow commercial research collaborations Lead in the development of University s consultancy provision Oversee the management and development of the University s portfolio of Intellectual Property to optimise opportunities for financial return. Support the identification, promotion and securing of external funding to enable the delivery of Manchester Metropolitan s strategic objectives for research and innovation. Leadership and Management Lead and manage the University s submission to the Knowledge xchange Framework (KF) Lead and manage KTP, Partnerships, SM programmes and Commercialisation teams ensuring successful integration of operational activities across faculty-based support and other central professional service teams. Support and lead the closer integration of activities across the full breadth of RK directorate teams, particularly around new initiatives. Lead and develop the University s business incubation facilities (Innospace) and associated programmes Lead effective mechanisms and structures across all for our Faculties in terms of business development activities and income generation. 3 Support the PVC (RK) and Director of RK in the organisational and culture changes required in the creation, delivery and successful activity of University Centres for Research and Knowledge xchange (UCRK). Sector Profile Maintain, understand and respond to the national and international landscape for innovation, ensuring that the University is well positioned to rapidly adapt to change. Maintain an active external strategy and policy profile on behalf of the University, including, responding to consultations, informing policy by membership of national groups and networks, and presenting at regional and national conferences and seminars. Develop broad and productive internal networks and a detailed understanding of research and innovation capabilities and capacity. Regularly represent the University at regional and national meetings with senior colleagues from our current and potential partners and funders. Research and Knowledge xchange Senior Management s one of three section Heads within RK leadership team you will have wider departmental and institutional responsibilities for staff development, budgetary management, reporting and strategy. s a senior administrative member of staff, contribute to the wider development of the University s professional services and academic support arrangements.
