2 Marketing Executive Marketing, Corporate Services Are you an enthusiastic, well organised and versatile individual with creative ideas for marketing communications? Do you want to use your marketing knowledge and experience to successfully implement marketing plans? There are two exciting opportunities for professional and proactive individuals to support the delivery of marketing activities; one role is within the Student Recruitment Marketing team and the other is in the Research and Innovation Marketing team. For both of these roles, we welcome candidates who have experience of working in a marketing role that involves marketing communications and experience of delivering digital marketing campaigns. As a Marketing Executive, you will provide support across all areas of the marketing mix, including delivering marketing campaigns, producing marketing materials, undertaking market research and assisting with the design, planning and organisation of marketing events. You will be passionate about a career in marketing and have excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be self-directing with an enthusiastic approach and have the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences. The nature of both roles means that there will be a requirement for occassional weekend and evening working. What do the roles entail? As a Marketing Executive your main duties will include: Maintaining and developing marketing activities including websites, brochures, flyers, exhibition stands and digital communications including e-newsletters and any other marketing materials which promote activities. This will include sourcing, writing and editing content; Sourcing and maintaining a bank of case studies, co-ordinating photography and video shoots and uploading to the image library;
3 Delivering marketing campaigns including researching effective channels and contacts for promotion; Assisting with the design, planning and organisation and delivery of Universitywide marketing events. The type of events will depend on the nature of the role; for the Student Recruitment marketing role this will include open days and exhibitions, whereas for the Research and Innovation marketing role this will include conferences, stakeholder networking and other events; Undertaking market research such as intelligence gathering and competitor analysis. Providing analysis of research to support the development of marketing communication plans; Managing and developing organic social media activity (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube etc.) across key platforms to support marketing activities including the development of key messages and content for a variety of audiences; Working collaboratively with other University departments to support the delivery of University-wide marketing activities to key audiences. These duties provide a framework for both roles and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the posts. What will you bring to the role? As a Marketing Executive you will have: Experience of working in a marketing role that involves marketing communications and including experience of delivering digital marketing campaigns; Excellent communication skills (copy writing, editing and proof reading skills) with experience of writing copy for promotional materials for use in both print and digital applications. You will also have the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences; A high level of accuracy and attention to detail; An ability to organise, prioritise and plan work independently and effectively to meet strict deadlines; Effective interpersonal, negotiation and team-working skills; Experience of editing web content and using web content management systems;
4 Experience of using social media platforms (Twitter Instagram, Facebook etc.) to engage with different audiences; A proactive problem solving approach; The ability to work flexibly, as you may be required to support events which may take place on an evening and at weekends. You may also have: A relevant Marketing qualification, or be studying towards qualification; Experience of delivering automated campaigns either through an marketing platform of through a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system; An understanding of search engine optimisation, search marketing and content marketing; Experience of marketing research impact.
