4 THE CURRENT SITUATION Tday s wrld is mre cnnected with glbal infrmatin, technlgy and financial markets. We live in unpredictable times: Envirnmental cncerns Plitical instability The financial and ecnmic crisis

5 THE CURRENT SITUATION Glbalised and rapidly changing labur market need a skilled and mbile wrkfrce that can cntinuusly develp their knwledge and skills. The grwing imprtance f the need t get a skilled and mbile wrkfrce cmes at time when glbal labur market is suffering frm high unemplyment in many EU cuntries. 40 % f Eurpean emplyers reprt that they are unable t find the right emplyees even ffering cmpetitive wages. Skill mismatch in the EU affects mst f wrkfrce.

7 THE CURRENT SITUATION In tday s wrk envirnment, ability t learn quickly and efficiently is ne f the mst imprtant factrs determining rganisatin s capacity t adjust t changing envirnment. Emplyers tend t cnsider that graduates f vcatinal educatin institutins are nt well prepared fr the labur market needs and lack mtivatin t imprve their qualificatins. Shrtage f the mentined cmpetencies may later becme a serius bstacle in raising qualificatin and remaining attractive in labur market.

9 FEATURES OF YOUNG GENERATION This generatin wants t earn a lt, but desn t want t earn It is very difficult t keep their attentin. This generatin grew up with technlgies, it needs challenges and has a glbal visin. This generatin is immediate and exists nly I and Yu. It is very imprtant fr this generatin hw it feels at the wrkplace and it is imprtant that the leader respects and evaluates.

10 FEATURES OF YOUNG GENERATION This generatin chses internatinal cmpanies, technlgies, innvatins, because the mst imprtant value is experiences and freedm t chse what I want. This generatin can say that I will wrk at yur cmpany nly 1 year and after 1 year it can easily ask what yu can suggest fr me.

12 INSPIRING TO LEARN AT THE WORKPLACE Keeping in mind the new VET generatin features and the grwing imprtance f the need t get a skilled and mbile wrkfrce, learning mbility was chsen by the Lithuanian Emplyers as a mean fr acquiring new knwledge and skills and getting internatinal experience which is ranked at the tp f all criteria fr emplyers.

13 INSPIRING TO LEARN AT THE WORKPLACE Lithuanian Emplyers Cnfederatin by help f ERASMUS+ funds is develping a pilt mdel fr imprving VET graduates abibility t learn in wrkplaces thrugh internatinal traineeships in the enterprises. This year we sent 40 fresh VET graduates emplyed at the cmpanies fr 3 mnth traineeships in Bulgaria, Italy and Hungary. In 2018 it is planned t sent 50 fresh VET graduates fr 3 mnth traineeships in Malta, Slvenia, Hungary and Bulgaria.

14 INSPIRING TO LEARN AT THE WORKPLACE Mdel realizatin cntains 8 activity stages: - Infrming ptential candidates and perfrming their preselectin; - Preparing selected candidates t define their traineeship gals, t assess the cmpetencies which have t be imprved/develped during the traineeship perid; t design traineeship prgrammes fr qualificatin imprvement; - Assessing and recgnising f imprved/develped cmpetencies acquired during the nn-frmal learning; - Arranging supervisin, quality mnitring activities

16 INITIATIVES FORESEEN During the quality visits t enterprises in Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary we have nticed that wrkplaces with integrated practical training cannt be fund everywhere and quality assessment fr learning at the wrkplace in mst cases des nt exist at all.

17 INITIATIVES FORESEEN In rder t vercme this challenge Lithuanian Emplyers Cnfederatin is seeking by help f business assciatins in Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy invlved in the ERASMUS+ VET graduates mbility prjects: T develp Eurpean quality standard fr wrkplaces with integrated wrk-based learning; T set up a few pilt reginal Quality Reference Centers in the structure f emplyers assciatins which wuld be able t find cmpanies fr qualitative wrk-based learning, prvide infrmatin and methdlgical supprt in this field; T develp a Eurpean pilt netwrk f Quality Reference Centers fr wrkplace learning fr changing the best practice. ERASMUS+ funds will be used fr this purpse in 2018.

18 THE KEY ELEMENTS OF WORK PLACEMENTS Wrk placements shuld becme a student s persnal career management tl. In this case a chice f wrk placement wuld becme mre purpseful because students wuld link their placements with their persnal career gals. The benefit f wrk placements wuld be assessed and recgnized within the cntext f persnal career.
