ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT UNSW Global is the not-for-profit international education and assessment company of UNSW Australia. Established in 1999, the company is a wholly-owned enterprise of UNSW. Its purpose is to promote, support and add value to UNSW Australia and its brand by developing and delivering premium education and assessment offerings around the world. The company operates in areas ancillary to the core business of the University whilst supporting the international initiatives and activities of the University and leveraging the UNSW brand in markets beyond the University s operations. UNSW Global has two core areas of expertise: educational measurement and assessment education and training These activities are currently managed through the following Business Units: Assessment (Educational Assessment Australia (EAA)) Education (including UNSW Foundation Studies & UNSW Institute of Languages (UNSWIL)) The Business Units are supported by Business Partners with responsibility for financial management and reporting; human resource management, sales and marketing, business transformation (IT, BPM and PMO), facilities, legal, compliance and governance. The company also has subsidiary organisations in Singapore and Hong Kong. 2. POSITION SUMMARY The Project Coordinator will coordinate a wide range of projects and activities across EAA s school assessment products and services, and ensure timelines and specifications are adhered to. The role will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders and key clients and provide support to the designated Product Manager or Project Director. Page 1 of 5
2 3. RESPONSIBILITY PROFILE A. Common Responsibilities: 1. Comply with and promote agreed WHS practices, privacy provisions, agreed codes, policies and procedures, and conduct work in a respectful, safe and efficient manner 2. Participate in and promote UNSW Global core workplace programs, including, but not limited to, those relating to performance and professional development 3. Work collaboratively within the business group and across the organisation to promote effective communication and information sharing B. Key Responsibilities (no more than 12 key areas): 1. Develop timelines, project plans and provide support to the designated Product Manager or Project Director across a range of EAA projects and activities to ensure efficient and organized project activity 2. Monitor timelines and coordinate activities to ensure deliverables are achieved on time 3. Consult with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines regarding the development of project specifications, communication strategies, project controls and achievement of project milestones to ensure that communication is effective and understood 4. Contribute to the writing of tender submission, promotional materials and presentations to enhance EAA s productivity and efficiency 5. Plan and manage project events for EAA s products and services to ensure the deliverables are achieved and inefficiencies are reduced 6. Respond promptly and professionally to issues or queries raised by clients and ensure high levels of client satisfaction 7. Provide regular status reports, highlighting risks and variances to timelines and budgets, and develop contingencies to mitigate any impact to the overall project 8. Retain an up-to-date understanding on developments in EAA products and services, project management and the broader education/assessment industry 9. APPOINTMENT PROFILE A. Selection Criteria To be considered for this role candidates must be able to demonstrate they have: Qualifications and Experience Essential: Completion of a commerce/project Management degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in project or product management. Excellent organisation skills with successful experience in developing and meeting timelines under pressure and handling several projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement to resolve queries/problems quickly and accurately. Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and effectively interact with people from a range of backgrounds and levels. Experience in event management. Advanced computer skills across the Microsoft office suite. Willingness to travel and present. Page 3 of 5
4 Desirable: Experience in project or product management of education or assessment projects. Excellent skills with project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE 2) and toolsets Experience crafting targeted communications for websites, s and presentations. Experience working with contracts and tenders. Experience with publishing, printing and logistics. Experience with online assessment systems or learning management systems.
