1 Job Description Electrical Maintenance Engineer Department Babraham Campus Engineering (BCE) Grade BI 8 Salary range 23,228 to 25,733 per annum Plus allowance of 5,000 per annum Length of appointment Permanent Location Babraham Institute Working Hours 37 per week Job Profile Summary The main focus of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer role is carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks to various buildings, including working on motors, controllers, light control systems and LV distribution. Key areas of Responsibility Carrying out building electrical PPM tasks. Fault finding and rectification of faults. Carrying out fire alarm and emergency light testing. Opportunity to work on small scale electrical projects and installations. Being part of an on-call rota (one week in eight).

2 Person Specification Criteria Education & Qualifications BTECH or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant discipline Time-served apprenticeship in electrical engineering Essential () Highly Desirable () Desirable () Shortlisting (please indicate the specific criterion that can be shortlisted) () IEE Regulations 17 th Edition City and Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 electrical Testing and Inspection Relevant Experience In-depth knowledge of operation and maintenance of electrical supplies and M&E Engineering Services Proven experience of identifying electrical system faults, identifying the cause and carrying out remedial repairs Experience in local power lighting systems. Experience of main LV switchgear and installations. Relevant previous experience of working on a multi-building site Experience of supply transformers and MV installations, however MV switching and MV maintenance is not a requirement for this post and MV safety awareness training will be provided Experience of Fire Alarm and security installations Experience of external lighting and supply systems Experience of domestic and scientific apparatus and equipment Experience of IT and telephone installations Experience of maintenance of motors and control gear Knowledge & Skills Able to comprehend and communicate in the English language to a level appropriate for the position Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels
