It will challenge your thinking and your behaviour and provide you with perspective and insight. The Vanguard Method is a process by which you take your organisation out of a command and control design and put it into a systems design. 4 The Faculty Ibrar Hussain Vanguard Australia Ibrar set up Vanguard Australia last year after having been a Senior Executive within the pioneering fi rm of occupational psychologists, Vanguard Consulting (UK) for over twenty years. He is a key architect of the Vanguard Method a means to transform organisational performance and has a proven track record of supporting clients in creating strategic alliances within their organisations to eff ectively align with and support key business initiatives. He builds and retains high performance teams by supporting executives in developing and motivating skilled professionals. Garry Diack CEO Tait Communications Garry is CEO and Executive Director of Tait Communications. He joined the Board in July 2014 following his role of Interim Chief Executive Offi cer of Solid Energy New Zealand Limited. Garry was responsible for steering company performance through recapitalisation following a massive market downturn. He initially joined Solid Energy in 2010 and held the position of Interim CEO from February 2013 to May Prior to that, Garry accumulated a 25 year career as an advisor and consultant in corporate performance improvement, governance and growth-related activities in a number of leading New Zealand and Australian corporate entities. An experienced Director, Garry is a past Director of SBS Bank, and Chairman of General Cable Superconductors. He is currently Chairman of Mercer Group Limited and has been a Trustee on Tait s Contel Trust since He holds an MA (Hons) degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Sarah McGuinness Managing Director Consultant and Coach, Red Tussock Sarah has a background in psychology, communications, leadership development and lifestyle education, and has more than ten years experience working in corporate, government and community-based organisations in New Zealand and Australia. She has held senior positions in leadership and capability development and has had extensive experience building competent and confi dent leaders and individuals. She operates a leadership and wellness consultancy, Red Tussock. Sarah has a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Psychology), Graduate Diploma in Psychology, a Bachelor of Communication Studies, and certifi cates in training and assessment, and fi tness. She is also a registered exercise consultant with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and is trained in chronic care management. She has a strong interest in health behaviour and her recent psychology honours research was on the body image and eating behaviours of midlife men and women. Anne Molineux Consultant Deloitte Anne is a consultant in Deloitte s Human Capital Consulting practice. With the largest fully integrated HR capability in New Zealand, Deloitte helps clients enhance their organisation s performance, productivity and profi tability through the development of organisational and talent strategies, and programmes to enable business strategies. Anne has experience in HR advisory across both the public and private sectors. Anne practised as an employment lawyer prior to joining Deloitte in She is a former Kapiti Coast District Councillor. Calvin Smith Professional Director Calvin is a New Zealand based businessman with a background in investment banking. He is a Director of the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund and was previously CEO of K9 Natural Food. K9 Natural Food was recognised in 2011 as NZ s fi fth fastest growing business, and is now exporting from Christchurch to 19 countries throughout Asia, USA, Canada, Europe and Australasia. Calvin spent 16 years in investment banking working in New Zealand, Singapore, Tokyo and London. This culminated in his becoming Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston in London, with primary responsibility for the global currency derivatives trading. Upon returning to New Zealand in 2007, he has been actively involved with several start-up businesses.
