1 Title: School Officer ICT Support Location: St Joseph s College, Toowoomba Reports to: ICT Manager Classification: School Officer Level 3 Directorate: ICT Tenure: Continuing, Full Time To provide information and communication technology support and services to staff, students and systems. The support provided by the role holder will be guided by Jesus Christ and his teachings as understood and passed on by the Catholic Church other Catholic Church teachings, principles and values relevant legislation, government requirements and best practice Diocesan Strategic Plan, mission, vision, policies, frameworks, procedures and guidelines Essential tertiary Information Technology qualifications at certificate level or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position may be required or such knowledge, qualifications and experience deemed as necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position demonstrated experience working with the Microsoft suite of products effective relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills ability to work as an effective team member excellent customer service skills empathy with the values and ethos of the Catholic faith current working with children check positive notice issued by Blue Card Services, Department of Justice and Attorney-General, or a willingness and ability to obtain Desirable demonstrated experience in the operation of IT Service Management software, to record, manage, prioritise, escalate (when required), track and resolve incidents and requests Role description and Duties statement Page 1 of 5

2 3.1 contribute to and promote the development, alignment, attainment and review of the strategic goals for the Diocese of Toowoomba Catholic Schools (TCS) 3.2 provide technical support to staff and students within the College in a timely and professional manner 3.3 assist the ICT Manager to maintain and improve College IT systems to support new and changing technologies and business practices 3.4 maintain records and documentation to meet College requirements 3.5 collaborate and communicate with other members of the College and members of the other directorates within TCS to ensure that high professional standards are met 3.6 complete other duties that are directed as needs change or grow, if the duties are consistent with the purpose of this position and any relevant legal and/or industrial obligations 4.1 The incumbent performs the role cognisant of and in harmony with the vision and mission of TCS. 4.2 The incumbent will work cooperatively with other key stakeholders both within TCS and external agencies to ensure that services are delivered in a planned, coordinated and strategic manner. 4.3 The role holder will engage in performance reviews in accordance with TCS policy and procedure. 4.4 While at work the role holder must take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety take reasonable care that his or her acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons comply, so far as the role holder is reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction that is given by the person conducting the business or undertaking to allow the person to comply with the Work Health and Safety Act cooperate with any reasonable policy or procedure of the person conducting the business or undertaking relating to health or safety at the workplace that has been notified to workers Full authority is delegated from the Principal to produce the desired outcomes. Authority to commit funds is restricted to approved budget items and can only be authorised by the Principal. The School Officer - ICT Support reports directly to the ICT Manager. Other significant relationships exist with staff members of the College, members of the Toowoomba Catholic Schools Office, the Executive Director and the members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). 4 School Officer ICT Support Please note: this statement links to the key result areas in the Role Description 3.1 contribute to and promote the development, alignment, attainment and review of strategic goals for the Diocese of Toowoomba Catholic Schools (TCS) contribute as a member of the ICT Support team to achieve the strategies set out in the College Strategy and the TCS Strategic Plan attend professional development as appropriate document and report on the progress of initiatives in the College Strategy and the TCS Strategic Plan as required 3.2 provide technical support to staff and students within the College in a timely and professional manner create a positive customer experience by ensuring timely resolution or escalation of support requests, communicating promptly on progress and dealing with customers in a helpful, courteous and professional manner attend to phone calls and respond to support requests via the helpdesk ensure support tickets are updated with appropriate notes and closed in a timely manner provide audio and visual support for school events assist the ICT Manager to diagnose and resolve issues by utilising investigative techniques, querying knowledge articles and researching technical resources maintain the ICT store room follow processes to log warranty repairs with vendors 3.3 assist the ICT Manager to maintain and improve College IT systems to support new and changing technologies and business practices under broad and/or routine supervision, perform basic tasks on systems including, but not limited to: windows servers (i.e. file, print, backup, virtual hosts) network switches wireless infrastructure phone and voic system printers databases online services (i.e. Office 365) administer user, computer and group accounts in various systems (i.e. Active Directory, Office 365, SOBS) under the leadership and direction of the ICT Manager, work with the ICT team to develop and install technologies and solutions to meet the College s operational requirements 3.4 maintain records and documentation to meet College requirements contribute to and maintain documentation, knowledge articles and procedures to support the operation of the College ICT systems contribute to the maintenance of a database of current hardware, software and peripherals Page 4 of 5

5 3.5 collaborate and communicate with other members of the College and members of the other directorates within TCS to ensure that high professional standards are met maintain highly functional and collaborative working relationships with colleagues by interacting effectively, contributing to discussions and seeking advice understand and accept the contributions of others in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment to provide a highly competent and seamless service to TCS establish and maintain effective communication networks with stakeholders work collaboratively with stakeholders 3.6 complete other duties that are directed as needs change or grow, if the duties are consistent with the purpose of this position and any relevant legal and/or industrial obligations duties may include the completion of project work that presents itself during the course of the operational and strategic review of the actions associated with the College Strategy, TCS Strategic Plan or other directorate strategies I have read and understood this duties statement.
