1 GREENPEACE Australia Pacific JOB DESCRIPTION Role: Department: Salary: Responsible to: Status: Engagement Lead Program $94, per annum + Superannuation Deputy Program Director (Engagement) Full-time, Permanent. Direct Reports: Mobilisation Campaigner x 3 Overall purpose of the role Community Engagement Coordinator works closely with contractors, interns and volunteers The Engagement Lead is responsible for Greenpeace online engagement particularly around campaigns. This role is responsible for developing members and strategies of the mobilisation team. The role works very closely with the Digital Marketing Lead. Engagement Develop engagement programmes to deliver high-performing, innovative and effective digital campaigns that build power and engage supporters beyond petitions Identify appropriate segments and monitor their communications, design effective calls to action, as part of sustained user experiences across campaigns Identify opportunities to engage people online in financial asks Deliver organic leads and crowdfunder targets Develop the team so they can perform at a high standard Deliver social media leadership for the whole organisation Job Description Engagement Lead January

Leadership Overseeing and managing the direction and coordination of digital engagement activities by GPAP, ensuring effective integration and liaison with Greenpeace International and other offices Oversee the learning, development and training needs of the engagement team, and initiate work to address those needs and/or deliver an agreed L&D plan 3. Strategy and Program Development Develop strategies to move key supporter audiences and develop messaging to move these audiences Introduce and implement best-practise engagement methods for campaign projects and GPAP s engagement program Provide advice to the Digital Marketing Lead about the development of an online regular giver channel Lead the development and implementation of ambitious, dynamic engagement strategies in a complex and rapidly changing campaigning landscape Work with the Digital Marketing Lead to develop and implement strategies for fundraising, lead generation and supporter engagement Develop and implement GPAP social media strategy 3. Storytelling and communications Ensure that our story is supporter-centric and inspires people-powered campaigning and individual action Co-ordinate the design of digital materials such as micro-sites and online promotional materials Work in Story team to work on audit and narrative and audiences 4. Key Stakeholder Relationships Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external allies, agencies,, artists, contractors and suppliers Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Greenpeace staff internationally and ensure up to date knowledge of Greenpeace s international web presence and developments. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Greenpeace network participants, volunteers and activists 5. 3 4. Finance and Budgets Manage the team budget and any other budgets as directed 6. Tools and Innovation Ensure all online activities comply with usability and best practice guidelines Promote, guide and mentor the organisation on the advantages and possibilities of public engagement technologies and approaches Foster innovation and experimentation through research and propose suitable new initiatives Advise staff on the most effective use of the web as a campaigning and communications tool Maintain components of the Greenpeace Australia Pacific website as required Work across a wide variety of issues and manage a difficult workload Collaborate and experiment with innovative fundraising opportunities Conduct other projects as directed. 6. Reporting Provide transparent, timely and effective reporting of engagement strategy, approach, plans and progress Manage the reporting, tracking and evaluation of specific digital campaign strategies in consultation/coordination with the Deputy Program Director (Engagement) Identify key opportunities for campaign communications and growing the support base 7. 4 Functional competencies Deep understanding of running online communities and social media Understanding of branding, online design, information architecture and UX Ability to develop systems and procedures Data-driven decision-making across all media and channels Excellent communication and proven copywriting ability Experience of campaigning, lobbying, or advocacy Knowledge of environmental issues and the environmental sector Managerial and development skills Technical competencies At least three (3) years experience in a similar role Knowledge of web development technologies Data manipulation and analysis skills Functional HTML & CSS skills Familiarity with multimedia management and production for web, including static images and web videos. Method related competencies High level organisational skills and ability to manage a heavy workload Time management skills, in particular the ability to plan, organise and prioritise multiple projects and maintain tight deadlines Experience of budget management Experience of digital fundraising and marketing Experience of social media marketing and SEO Experience with integrated online and physical campaign methods.
