Collectively hospices in the UK care for around 360,000 people every year patients and their families and carers and we work closely with them to support their vital work, share best practice and to create a stronger national voice for hospice care. In income generation we do this by engaging people with why we are here through emotional story-telling, connecting people to our cause, giving them the opportunity to support us in different ways and helping them to feel proud to make a difference. 2 We aim to create a culture where income generation is embedded in the NA of our organisation and everyone is proud of fundraising. We have a one team, one dream mentality. The vents team sits in the Income Generation department and forms part of the overall Fundraising team where the emphasis is on fundraising from individuals although the team will frequently work closely with other teams in the department. Job description Purpose of role The vents xecutive will be responsible for managing several challenge events, including Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, third party challenge events and other miscellaneous events. This post holder will also support the wider vents team to deliver other key events in the events portfolio, which currently includes the Virgin Money London Marathon, a number of other third party events, bespoke corporate events and several special events. The post-holder will be responsible for administrative tasks and will be expected to play a full and active role within the income generation department and across the organisation. Key tasks and responsibilities 1. ngaging and motivating Hospice UK supporters To plan and deliver excellent supporter care for events participants, developing relationships with key long term supporters. To be the first point of call for those interested in taking part in an event, responding to enquiries quickly and efficiently. Working with the wider vents team to develop mass communications for supporters. For example, compiling the monthly events fundraising e-newsletter, developing new ways to engage with supporters via social media and working on campaigns. 2. Supporting in the delivery of the events programme Account managing a number of challenge events. This will involve: o implementing marketing and project plans o monitoring income and expenditure o reporting on activities and key performance indictors o developing relationships with key stakeholders o leading on event logistics, where appropriate o producing appealing marketing collateral o evaluating event performance against targets and use learnings to feed in to events strategy Supporting the wider vents team in the delivery of other key events and projects. 3 up afterwards. 3. vent administration Maintaining the database (ThankQ) to ensure data is recorded and updated accurately and event bookings are imported from our web booking platform. Also, working with the Head of Business Systems and ICT to ensure that processes work effectively. Operate an effective banking and thanking process for participants who have submitted their sponsorship money, ensuring that income is coded correctly and liaising with the finance team when necessary. Acting as digital champion for the organisation s fundraising events with responsibility for events-related social media and updating and creating pages on the events section of the Hospice UK website. Monitoring and administering online giving pages. nsuring filing and admin systems are kept up to date. Assuming responsibility for merchandise and events equipment; storage, fulfilment of requests, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and ordering new merchandise and equipment as required. 4. Other tasks Keep abreast of Charity Law and fundraising developments across the charity sector by liaising with fundraising staff in other organisations, and abiding by the Charities Act and IOF Code of Practice. Carrying out other tasks and duties as required, to support colleagues in the wider fundraising team; in particular to support bespoke corporate fundraising events and special events as required. This role profile is not exhaustive and is subject to review in conjunction with the post holder and according to future changes/developments in the service. All job descriptions are non-contractual and give a sense of the broad scope of the role and so include a level of flexibility. Further contributions can be made to the scheme and Hospice UK will match contributions of up to 7% of your gross salary. Is provided upon start date at three times salary, subject to acceptance by our insurers A cash plan scheme, which provides payments towards everyday healthcare treatments for example dental, optical etc. up to a policy limit. All employees will be covered under level two of the scheme. We offer childcare vouchers Loaning of a cycle via a salary sacrifice scheme. An interest free loan is available after the probation period. 25 days per year, increasing to 30 days with service.
