The day is designed to stimulate Scout sales and encourage interaction with customers. Entire unit gathers on a Saturday morning. The entire unit goes to a house to learn some techniques for selling door to door and to gain some confidence. The Scouts, leaders and parents then divide and blanket the neighborhood to see who can make the most sales. Meet back at the starting place in a specified amount of time and give the prize away. Interesting motivation technique: keep going until you get 10 NO s! Best Practices What many Successful Units do! Incorporate popcorn into your unit meetings foster competition with boys, Dens and Patrols! Spend some money to make money reward the boys from unit commissions! Support your scouts with sales tools and tips Publically recognize sellers! And be creative with incentives! Pie in the face, weekly unit drawings, paracord bracelets or mummies, etc. Use Blitzes and Show & Sells easy money! Encourage scouts to sell! Incorporate popcorn as part of their fall program!
