4 Overview Organisatins may enter the Asset Management Award (AMA) at any time. Once an rganisatin decides t apply fr the AMA t signify a milestne in its asset management jurney, an Intentin t Submit frm shuld be cmpleted and sent t the Asset Management Cuncil. This is the trigger t cmmence the AMA prcess. Refer t the Intentin t Submit frm at the back f this handbk fr details f requirements. Participatin in the Asset Management Award requires each participant t prepare a written submissin n its asset management perfrmance t be evaluated by an experienced Asset Management Cuncil Review team. Fllwing the review f the Applicant Submissin, the Asset Management Cuncil Review Team will, in cnjunctin with the applicant, cnduct an n-site review and verificatin f the Applicant Submissin. Fllwing that n-site review, an Applicant Inspectin Reprt is prepared by the Review Team and issued t the Applicant. The reprt includes a radar plt rating f the applicant s asset management system, against each f the review criteria. The radar plt rating als prvides a benchmark evaluatin against the AM Cuncil s Brnze, Silver, Gld and Platinum maturity criteria fr an asset management system. In the event f a psitive rating, the Asset Management Award will be presented by the Asset Management Cuncil t the recipient at the next annual ceremny as part f its annual Asset Management Cnference. Each year, the tp scring Australian Asset Management Award applicant is nminated by the Asset Management Cuncil t be a finalist at the Natinal Engineering Excellence Awards, hsted by Engineers Australia. The Asset Management Award criteria are based upn the Asset Management Cuncil s Asset Management Bdy f Knwledge which is cmprised f three strategic cmpnents: a definitin f Asset Management which defines the bundaries f Asset Management; a Capability Cncept Mdel which presents the basis f successful asset management; and a Capability Delivery Mdel which presents a series f prcesses which may be used t deliver successful asset management. The Analysis Apprach The assessment apprach used within the Asset Management Award enables an rganisatin t examine its asset management perfrmance against each f the Asset Management Award Criteria, including: 1. 5 Apprach - Identifies an rganisatin s asset management thinking and the prcesses designed t supprt the management f its physical assets cmpared against industry gd practice. 1 Organisatinal Prcess Capability/Maturity - Identifies the degree f capability reached by an rganisatin in its ability t supprt the management f the cmpany s physical assets. Results Identifies the measures f achieved perfrmance (and the prcess by which they are mnitred and evaluated) that measures the effectiveness f the Apprach and its Prcess Capability. They then apply thse plans t achieving their gals and increasing their future value. 14 Frequently Asked Questins When is the deadline fr submitting t the AMA? Yu can enter the AMA at any time during the year. The submissin must be received by the AM Cuncil staff within 16 weeks frm acceptance f the Intentin t Submit, r as therwise indicated by the Asset Management Cuncil. The Assessment prcess, including a site Review, takes place within ne mnth after the final submissin is handed in by the Applicant. All 2014 Asset Management Award submissins and site Reviews are t be cmpleted by Mnday 31st March Submissins received after this date will be eligible fr the 2015 Asset Management Awards. Hw lng is the n-site review? The n-site review takes 1.5 days (apprximately 12 hurs). Wh Reviews the Submissin? The Review Team cmprises f a minimum f tw peple external t the Award Applicant. The Award Applicant rganisatin being reviewed may include a Representative n the Review Team. Members f the Review Team are as fllws: Team Leader; Certified Fellw in Asset Management Reviewer (usually 2); Certified Senir Practitiner in Asset Management r equivalent Award Applicant Representative (ptinal); Observer (ptinal fr Asset Management Cuncil training purpses). The time available fr the review prcess is shrt, s it is imprtant that each team member understands their particular rles and respnsibilities. What is the rle f the Applicant Representative? The Award Applicant s Representative is a particularly imprtant member f the Review Team, and is encuraged t participate with the Review Team during the site presentatin. The Award Applicant s Representative questins may assist presenters in cmmunicating the full extent f their effrts. Each f the seven criteria has a set f questins that have t be answered during the Award Candidate s presentatin. Each questin seeks t understand hw the rganisatin is managing a particular aspect f the criteria. The respnse t the questins will vary depending n the industry and the strategy adpted by the particular Award Candidate. The Review Team shall cmment n the apprpriateness f the strategy in terms f strengths and pprtunities. Each AMA Criteria is equally weighted, and is scred n 4 grades, as described belw.
