1 POSITION DESCRIPTION Psitin Title: Electrical Technician PD Number: NET0235 Reprts t: Senir Resurce Supervisr Divisin: Netwrk Operatins Branch: Reginal Operatins ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT Netwrks NSW (NNSW) is the grup f cmpanies cmprising Ausgrid, Endeavur Energy and Essential Energy (netwrk businesses). Althugh they remain separate legal entities with separate netwrk peratins, these cmpanies are managed tgether under cmmn gvernance arrangements effective frm 1 July 2012, t implement the Gvernment s refrm f the NSW electricity distributin industry. As ne f the three separate netwrk businesses, Essential Energy is respnsible fr the safe and efficient management and peratin f the electricity distributin netwrk cnsistent with the strategy, plicies and standards as determined by the cmmn grup management structure. While cnsiderable changes are likely t ccur in the perating envirnment f the business, Netwrks NSW and each netwrk business will remain fcused n: Achieving the bjectives set ut in the State Owned Crpratins Act 1989, including: Operating at least as efficiently as any cmparable privately wned business; Maximising the value f the business t the State; Operating a safe, reliable and sustainable netwrk; and Balancing cmmercial, scial, envirnmental and custmer expectatins; Implementing initiatives identified under the Netwrk Refrm Prgram t achieve the targeted savings; and Fully harnessing the skills and capabilities f ur peple thrugh a clear fcus n leadership and cultural transfrmatin, underpinned by ur crprate values. BRANCH/SECTION PURPOSE Reginal Operatins will prvide wrks delivery thrugh prfessinal resurce management fcussing n prductivity and cnsistency fr end t end delivery f prjects including design and estimatin t prject management. The Branch purpse is underpinned by the establishment f a safe, engaged, effective, prductive and flexible resurce base respnsive t custmer and enterprise needs. POSITION PURPOSE The Electrical Technician is respnsible fr the delivery f a range f technical wrks encmpassing the maintenance, cnstructin, inspectin and peratin f equipment related t energy Transmissin and Distributin systems. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Undertake as required the cnstructin, maintenance, inspectin and repair f assciated electrical systems and netwrk assets fr the business Carry ut Installatin, inspectin, cnnectin and discnnectin f meters including CT metering and related equipment t custmer switchbards Carry ut inspectin and testing activities and cmplete reprts as required n general custmer electrical installatins cnnected t the reticulatin netwrk Electrical Technician 26 September 2014 Page 1 f 5

2 Undertake inspectin, testing, verificatin activities and cmplete reprts as required n general netwrk Transmissin and Distributin reticulatin and infrastructure Carry ut switching and perating wrk assciated with high vltage and lw vltage netwrk assets in accrdance with Netwrk Transmissin and Distributin practices Carry ut cnstructin and maintenance f Padmunt, Kisk Substatins and assciated equipment t Netwrk standards quality f supply and shck cmplaint investigatins Installatin, maintenance, repair and jining f pwer cables, signal cables and equipment assciated with undergrund distributin systems Install, test and cnnect street lighting equipment t ensure efficient and effective peratin f equipment Operate plant and equipment assciated with the abve duties CHALLENGES Supprt a culture f n unsafe acts and challenge and reprt, if required, unsafe safety and envirnmental issues and cncerns as they arise Be actively invlved in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery f the Capital and Operatinal wrks prgram within designated area f cntrl Create pprtunities fr cst reductins by identifying imprvements and cntributing t cntinuus business imprvement which enhances custmer value.
