No Section 1: Purpose Supervise the day to day task delivery and support of business intelligence services, working with Application Delivery managers to ensure agreed services are delivered Policy owner: Manager, Recruitment & Onboarding Page 1 of 6

2 Section 2: Key accountabilities and outcomes/tasks Technical accountabilities Coordinate the operations and quality outcomes of business intelligence services ensuring service stability and delivery of defined business priorities Day to day task management of BI staff and agency hire staff Assist the Information and Integration Manager in resourcing and optimal utilisation of resources Day to day management of support contracts and contract resources ensuring any issues are raised with the Information and Integration Manager Establish, contribute to and ensure adherence to the defined BI standards Ensure adherence to Sydney Water IT policy, process and frameworks Working with vendor to ensure that contract skills are fit for purpose Work within defined BI processes responding to monitoring reports and alerts Collaborate with Information Management Coordinator and IT teams to drive continuous improvement in underlying data quality and structure Contribute to establishment of operational performance benchmarks and ensure applications adhere to these standards Ensure application knowledge is transferred within the BI team and core support documentation is delivered, maintained and updated as required Build effective day to day working relationships with IT and business resources across the organisation. Supervisor VARI as per the Leadership Framework Staff may be required to participate in to provide emergency response outside normal business hours. Staff may be required to carry out planned work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends. Tertiary degree qualification in information technology, computer science or similar or equivalent industry experience. Skills Specific skills, software packages or licences required to perform the position and at what level. Demonstrated ability to mentor, coordinate, maintain and prioritise tasks and resources both on and off site Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with business resources across that organisation Excellent communication and negotiation skills, team focus and dedication to customer service Demonstrated ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing environment Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills, with experience in presenting to stakeholders at all organisational levels Ability to communicate complex technical problems effectively in a clear and concise way in language and concepts customers can understand Ability to problem solve difficult issues to arrive at a technical solution that meets the business needs Demonstrated collaboration skills, both within teams and across broader organisational groups Policy owner: Manager, Recruitment & Onboarding Page 4 of 6

5 Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver technology services in line with the IT Strategic Plan Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team Experience Experience needed for the position. Minimum 10 years experience in Information Technology Minimum 7 years experience in BI delivery/lead roles Minimum 7 years experience with SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Suite including but not limited to o SAP BusinessObjects Data Services o SAP BusinessObjects Designer o SAP BusinessObjects Rich Client o SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence o SAP BusinessObjects Import Wizard o SAP BusinessObjects Explorer o SAP BusinessObjects Live Office o SAP Crystal Reports o SAP Excelsius / Dashboards Technical expertise in: o BI data quality management o Data Modelling including tools such as ERWIN o Data analytics o Report delivery o Customer self service capabilities Experienced in developing and contributing to establishing standards, governance, methods and delivery process improvements Experienced in training and coaching business users Strong working knowledge of data base technologies Experience in dealing with technology vendors, associated contracts and licence management Experience working with large enterprise applications Previous experience in coordinating and allocating tasks Strong knowledge and experience working with Unix (preferably Solaris) Hands on working knowledge of Agile methodologies, ideally Scrum Additional knowledge and skills Desirable knowledge, skills or experience needed for the position.
