As a diverse and enthusiastic team we try t prmte this develpment thrugh an pen mindset where innvative ideas are cnsidered and evaluated fr implementatin while appealing t different business majrs. UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO, RÍO PIEDRAS CAMPUS S W O T A n a l y s i s Strengths Winning the Brnze Chapter award at the 37 th Internatinal AMA Cllegiate Cnference has served as an encuragement amng ur members and a recgnitin frm ur faculty. The AMA Cllegiate Chapter is the secnd largest student rganizatin at the University f Puert Ric, Ri Piedras Campus. Extended bard f directrs with Assistant VPs in mst psitins that wrk hand in hand with the VP elected t make the best f every activity and prject. New cmmunicatin strategies directed t build trust and a sense f belnging amng ur members. The best and mst active AMA Chapter in Puert Ric. Chapter members f different majrs wh prvide a variety f perspectives and new ideas. Serving as mentrs fr emerging chapters at ther universities gives us a prestigius standing. Excellent cmmunicatins and relatinships with ther student rganizatins and faculty. Cperative and supprtive chapter advisr wh cnnects ur Chapter with an ample number f prfessinals and cmpanies. Excellent cmmunicatin with cllege students and prfessrs, ther student assciatins, and external institutins. Business partnerships with Nielsen and Ballester Hermans distributrs that will prvide us with new tls fr ur members prfessinal develpment. Weaknesses Participatin in case cmpetitins are limited since the majrity f ur members are freshmen and sphmres that have nt taken many marketing curses. Many members f the Bard f Directrs need t learn hw t delegate. They usually feel uncmfrtable by assigning and requesting thers t perfrm certain tasks. Bard f Directrs unfamiliar with Chapter peratins. Only tw members f the twelve in the bard f directrs had previus experience as leaders in the chapter. Sustaining active participatin frm ur members thrughut the academic year is difficult especially during midterms and at the end f the semester. The membership fee is the highest in the Business Schl. Limited budget fr educatin and prfessinal planning. N technlgical devices (prjectrs, printers and phtcpiers) wned by the chapter. Absence f an American Marketing Assciatin Prfessinal Chapter within ur area. A Opprtunities Strng cmmitment t wrk fr a Gld Chapter recgnitin in the 38 th annual cllegiate cnference. An increase in student enrllment in the University f Puert Ric Ri Piedras Campus fr the first time in 5 years. Having achieve the AACSB accreditatin has given us new pprtunities t interact with ther internatinal universities. Expansin f membership numbers amng new students Develp a partnership with Her Campus Magazine t serve as their marketing and prmtin prviders. New business partnerships as a result f psitive feedback frm last year experience with DIALOGO Digital (UPR Digital Newspaper). Develpment f a strng data base that cnnect us while incrprating active interactive participatin f members. Cmpliance with the requirement f schlarships and hnr prgrams t be part f at least tw rganizatins. Psitive wrd f muth between members and students allws thers t learn abut the assciatin. Interactin with ther students rganizatins t impact ur cmmunity as well as ur campus. Interest in establishing new cllegiate chapters thrugh the rganizatin f activities utside the university. Participatin in cllege events such as jb fairs and pen huses where ur chapter can be prmted. Threats The ecnmic crisis in Puert Ric creates instability and uncertainty within ur educatinal institutin since it is a state university primarily funded by the gvernment. Casins that als prvide funding t ur University (state university) are being clsed which aggravates the ecnmic crisis. Five mnths f cntinuus drught have hinder the pssibility t make mst f ur activities since water is available n alternate days. Lts f cmpetitin amng business rganizatins. The rise in the internatinal registratin fee affects the number f students willing t enrll in ur rganizatin. N schl funding and very limited initial budget fr the develpment and implementatin f activities. The reductin in the academic ffer at the university limits the students pprtunity t participate f ur activities.

We, as a chapter, have t take int cnsideratin new marketing trends t update ur strategies in rder t achieve ur gals. We rganize a calendar f activities each mnth that appeal t diverse interests and areas f marketing t give ur students a variety f ways t cntribute t the success f the American Marketing Assciatin. We always plan fr success s in ur plans we prepare fr the multiple bstacles we may face during the academic year. We must deal with different situatins such as cancellatins f cnferences r fundraising activities due t bad weather r ther reasns that prevent students f attending t these activities. Hwever, we pride urselves in taking actin and cntrlling the situatin by either quickly rescheduling the activity r bringing an alternate curse f actin. After the annual cnventin, we have t prepare urselves fr a restructure f ur chapter we will hld electins at the end f the semester and we will prepare the new incming directive with the tls and knwledge t cntinue ur traditin and ur legacy. Increase the AMA UPR Ri Piedras Cllegiate Chapter membership frm 60 t 80 members in the schl year f Cntinue last year business partnerships and develp new business partnerships t imprve ur prfessinal develpment activities and fundraising activities. Help small and medium size businesses arund ur campus by serving as their strategic marketing and prmtin prviders. Integratin f cmmunity service activities, scial events planning and cmmunicatins t prfessinal develpment while building and develping students prfessinal skills within these internal and external activities. Imprve ur chapter standing internatinally. Gain active member participatin in activities such as prfessinal develpment, cmmunity service and fundraising. Develp effective, engaging and executable planning t prvide prfessinal and academic experiences t ur members thrughut the year. Fster relatinships with cmpanies thrugh the exchange f services, internships and spnsrs benefits. Reinfrce ur cmmunicatin strategy thrugh varius cmmunicatin channels. C h a p t e r O p e r a t i n s E-Bard Meetings Gal: Meet nce every week t rganize activities, cmpetitins and members meetings. Have a 90% participatin f the e-bards members. Celebrate all the meetings in ur ffice in rder t maintain a cnstant lcatin. This ffice is inside the Campus. Make suitable use f apps like WhatsApp. With these applicatins the e-bard can maintain the cmmunicatin, make a list f the things t d, keep recrd f the activities and als establish deadlines fr each activity. Membership Meetings Gal: Celebrate ne meeting per mnth with the members t present them the mnth activities, infrm them hw they may participate and receive their suggestins. Strategy: Celebrate the meetings in a cmfrtable place (air cnditin, chairs, cmputers and prjectr) where the executive bard and the members can build strng relatinships Executive Bard Retreats Gal: Organize ne leadership and teamwrk wrkshp every semester. Strategy: Wrking tgether with a prfessinal in the field f leadership and business and als with the ther executive bards f ther business assciatins in campus Member s Evaluatins f the Cllegiate Chapter Gal: Have feedback f activities and the wrk executed by the executive bard. Strategy: Have the members evaluate the activities t measure their satisfactin and knw their pinin twards the activities r twards the chapter Chapter Plan Gal: Prpse new challenging gals fr all the members. Strategy: Use the Chapter plan as a guide t thse gals. Keep a list f the future gals and a list f the gals accmplished. Annual Reprt Gal: Achieve the gals presented in the Chapter Plan. 5 Prfessinal Develpment UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO RÍO PIEDRAS CAMPUS The majr gal f the American Marketing Assciatin, Rí Piedras Campus Chapter, is t give the future prfessinals and entrepreneurs in the marketing and business field experiences that help them understand the reality f the business wrld and hw t succeed in it. The main strategy t achieve this gal is the cncerted implementatin f a series f cnferences, wrkshps, internship pprtunities and develpmental activities that will prpel them t grw as a business peple and as human beings with a sense f wrk ethic and persnal integrity. The American Marketing Assciatin, Rí Piedras Chapter, will ffer their members all the tls they need t becme successful prfessinals at their careers alng their way. AMA Chapter Business - Marketing Service Prvider and Cnsultants fr Tw Cmpanies Fr its secnd year in a rw, the AMA UPR Chapter is prmting its students as marketing cnsultants and prviders fr cmpanies, business cperatives and nnprfit rganizatins. As part f this initiative we will cntinue wrking with ur first client The Newspaper Dialg, the first newspaper in the island f Puert Ric, which made the transitin t nly digital business ( In additin, we recently made an agreement with the Centr para Puert Ric a nnprfit rganizatin that wrks with pr cmmunities and wmen by prviding them the pprtunity t develp entrepreneurship skills in an effrt t reduce their deprived ecnmic status. This assciatin with the Centr para Puert Ric (Sila M. Caldern Fundatin) is an integrated effrt between the areas f Cmmunity services and Prfessinal develpment. Develp marketing and entrepreneurial skills amng students by acting as prviders f marketing services fr real cmpanies and fr nnprfit rganizatins. Cntinue ur cllabrative alliance with the newspaper Diálg fr the develpment and implementatin f a prmtinal prgram fr their digital platfrm and t help them develp a sales prgram t sell ads in exchange f the pprtunity f publishing and cmmunicating all AMA activities in the newspaper. Wrk with Centr para Puert Ric in the prcess f evaluating the feasibility f sme business ideas and business plans. In additin, we will help them in the prcess f develping and implementing their prmtinal strategy fr the prgrams and prjects the Centr ffers. This will be a pr bn activity in which students will be able t apply their knwledge by helping thers, a true scially respnsible activity. Find at least anther cmpany r nnprfit rganizatin tprvide cnsulting service. Evaluate and analyze business plans fr small business entrepreneur. Develp a marketing and prmtinal campaign fr Centr para Puert Ric. Evaluate and fllw up Dialg prmtinal campaign and sales effrts. FAE Jb & Internship Fair Prmte jbs and internship pprtunities in marketing t students. Wrk alngside the Cllege f Business Administratin and the Enlace Prgram t bring marketing recruiters t the campus. Increase student attendance and participatin. Prmte ur members invlvement and participatin as vlunteers in the rganizatin f the Jb Fair and by serving as ushers. Invite different cmpanies tthe Jb fair and shw them the best candidates that ur faculty can prvide them. Orient students n hw t prepare a resume and hw t be successful in an interview. Prvide ur members the pprtunity t develp a list f cmpanies f their interest t participate in the jb fair. Hst netwrking sessins between prestigius cmpanies and students. C-1 Marketing Week This year ur Marketing week will educate students n Persnal selling and Retailing strategies, tw areas that are nt being extensively cvered in ur curriculum and that we realized are essential in ur critical ecnmy. Prmte Marketing as an imprtant tl fr all business areas. Schedule a week lng activities in the campus with prfessinal speakers, scial activities, cmmunity service, wrkshps and sales. Get at least 25 students t attend each cnference given by prfessinals in the industry. Advertise these event arund the UPR Ri Piedras campus using internal and external cmmunicatin such as flyers, scial media and s. Fcus all f ur cnferences and wrkshp f the Marketing Week in Persnal sales and Retailing Strategies. Cnferences Educate and prmte the discussin n new marketing and business trends t strengthen ur students skills. Hst 10 different cnferences per semester with an average attendance f 25 students. Identify the areas that prfessrs, members and prfessinals think that ur bachelr degree needs t imprve and select the mst essentials tpics. Cntact and persuade prestigius speakers t give us cnferences in the tpics that we identify as the essentials nes. Advertise each cnference in advance, thrugh s, scial netwrks, different students rganizatins and classes. Wrkshps Develp the ultimate business skills besides marketing. Identify the skills that ur members need tdevelp t relate r prvide the wrkshps inthse specific areas. Hst a minimum f 5 wrkshps thrughut the year. The wrkshps will include but nt will be limited t: Micrsft Excel, marketing research, LinkedIn, resume building, netwrking. Have an average attendance f 25 students per wrkshp. Strategy: Use ur members, faculty resurces and prfessinal netwrk t seek qualified individuals t crdinate each wrkshp. Mentring Prgram Persuade 2 r 3 cmpanies t accept ur members in their cmpany fr a perid f time; and t assign ur members a mentr fr prfessinal advice during a shrt perid. Give ur members the pprtunity t start a prfessinal experience, with the purpse f understanding the differences between thery and practice. Search fr cmpanies that culd bring us the mst enriching experience in the applicatin f marketing principles and strategic implementatin. Prmte the prgram t bring the mst members pssible t participate in it.

Strategy: Search fr interesting cmpanies that brings a cmplete view f all majr business areas. Lending a Hand Share ur marketing expertise with ther students rganizatins. Help in the prmtin f the events f ther students assciatins. Organize events in cllabratin with thers faculty rganizatins timpact a greater number f students. Strategy: Cllabrate with SHRM, FMA, AEC, ALPHA, AISEC, ENACTUS and thers assciatins f business administratin by prviding them the prmtinal and lgistic tls t achieve their gals. Resume Data Base Cllect at least 30 resumes f ur members Offer students a platfrm t prmte them fr jbs and internship pprtunities. Develp a data base t share with recruiters the students with the characteristics that they are lking fr. Strategy: Invite ur members t give us their resumes s we can create a database with their infrmatin and divide them by a grup f specifics characteristics and share that infrmatin with cmpanies recruiters. Internatinal Cllegiate Cnference and Cmpetitin Develp a sense f unity and teamwrk fr cmpetitin. Prepare at least 20 r mre members t represent ur chapter in the cmpetitins. Imprve ur standing and wrk hard t be amng the TOP 10 best chapters. Have ur members participate and stand ut in mst f the internatinal cmpetitins. Develp a series f wrkshp t prepare ur members fr the cmpetitins. AMA Natinal Cmpetitins Prmte teamwrk, leadership, cmmitment t excel and cmpetitiveness. Subscribe t all AMA Natinal cmpetitin and participate in them. Prmte all cmpetitins in ur members meetings and bring fllw up infrmatin. Establish a schedule t determine deadlines fr the cmpetitins. Develp a strategic plan and assignment f grups t be charge f each cmpetitin. Creating a 360 degree strategy t have a better impact in the different cmpetitins. Case Cmpetitin Gal: Establish a team f at least 12 students and a secndary team f 7 students t create a case reprt that will be selected fr presentatin and defense at the Natinal Cnference. Prmte the participatin in the Case cmpetitin amng members during meetings and giving them a fllw up infrmatin n the wrk in prgress. Create an integrated marketing cmmunicatins plan fr the AMA Case Spnsr. Establish a principal leader fr the Case Cmpetitin team and identify at least 3 mre sub leaders t lead specific areas f the case. Hld weekly meetings with the central leader, sub leaders and the faculty advisr. Marketing 360 Gal: Hst a lcal marketing cnference fr students. Which is design t reunite in the same place a prestigius speaker fr different marketing tpic. Attract an verall attendance f 80 students f ur schl f business plus 20 f ther universities. Have cmpanies participate in a career fair lking t hire students in jbs and internships. Strategy: Create a marketing strategy t prmte Marketing 360 t attract students t the cnference. Identify and persuade renwned speakers in different marketing tpics t participate in the cnference. Identify at least ne cmpany r an rganizatin t act as ur spnsr in this cnference. Markahlic Hst ur traditinal and unique Markahlic initiative t prvide ur chapter members as well t lcal entrepreneurs and artisans the pprtunity t sell their prducts and share their visin f their experience as entrepreneurs in a very creative an infrmal envirnment. Develp selling and entrepreneurship skills in ur students. Give the students a new pprtunity t be creative. Prmte the Markahlic thught at the University. Design a layut f the spaces available fr the entrepreneurs and artisans. Persuade at least 3 lcal entrepreneur t give cnference abut their experience ding business. Engagement Plans (NEW) Gal: The UPRRP AMA Chapter will be acting as crdinatrs fr the develpment f engagement plans with glbal and lcally recgnized cmpanies fr the establishment f lng-term relatinships that will prvide students with diverse business pprtunities and that will prvide cmpanies access t the best and mst qualified students. This initiative is in cllabratin with ur Schl f Business and the Liaisn prgram ( Enlace ). These engagement plans will have the purpse f prviding mutual cllabratin and pprtunities between cmpanies and ur faculty t give ur students new jbs and internship experiences, wrkshps, certificates, plant turs and a series f ther prfessinal pprtunities. In additin, we will serve as ambassadrs t this cmpanies in ur faculty. Strategy: Persuade at least 3 cmpanies t participate n this engagement plans this engagement plans by hsting frmal reunins, presentatins and acting as mediatrs in the negtiatin between the cmpanies and ur schl f business.

7 C m m u n i t y S e r v i c e UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO, RIO PIEDRAS CAMPUS The AMA UPRRP chapter is aware f the envirnment in which it perates. It has a sense f respnsibility that transcends t ne anther, t ur families, t ur university, t ur cmmunities, ur cuntry and the wrld. That is why cmmunity services is an area where we fcus n giving students a prper appreciatin f what they have, and n giving them an pprtunity t give back and help thers less frtunate. Creating respnsible prfessinals wh identify with peple ging thrugh struggles gives the wrld a better chance t find slutin t the prblems. We will prvide dnatins, wrk as vlunteers and participate in Charitable events. This is an pprtunity fr members t develp bth their marketing and a scial respnsibility skills n tp f giving the chapter a chance t imprve its public image. Therefre, the AMA UPRRP is engaged in the develpment f cmmunity service events, and the prmtin f imprtant scial impact activities. Using ur marketing skills, we seek t prvide new pprtunities fr members t participate in the causes they identify with. But in additin, this year we are striving fr excellence and we are lking fr new scially respnsible activities in which AMA members can nt nly d vlunteer wrk fr the cmmunity, but where they can als enrich their ptential by applying true marketing and business cncepts while assisting nn-prfit rganizatins. This will enhance ur members sensible side, making them mre cnscius and aware f imprtant scial causes. Fnds Unids (United Funds f Puert Ric) and Banc de Aliments de Puert Ric Cllabrate with United Funds f Puert Ric and Banc de Aliments de Puert Ric, rganizatins that fcus n preventing hunger in the Island. Our assistance will be related t: Scial media dcumentatin f phts and vides f the rganizatins events Carry- n f fd drives T-shirt sales Distributin f infrmative and prmtinal flyers Have at least 35 members invlved in the many activities held by the rganizatins. Divide members in teams f 5 vlunteers and assign them t different tasks. Prvide an infrmative rientatin t the vlunteers abut the purpse f the rganizatins and the events ur chapter are ging t help them develp. Impart tactical insights t vlunteers n hw they can imprve their scial media and sales skills, when dcumenting phts and vides fr scial media platfrms and while prmting sales and activities fr private nn-prfit rganizatins. Susan G. Kmen (Race fr the Cure) Create a team f 15 members t help in the asis (hydratin centers) during the annual Race fr the Cure in Puert Ric, held by the internatinal nn-prfit rganizatin f breast cancer causes, Susan G. Kmen. Prepare the team members fr the day f the race, by prviding them with essential infrmatin abut breast cancer awareness, the imprtance f the event, the schedule and the tasks they have t cmply with during the race. Cllecting Cffee with Starbuck s: Gal: Have at least 15 members t participate in Starbuck s Puert Ric annual cllectin f cffee beans in harvest farms frm the Island. Create awareness abut hw students can cntribute t the prductin f cffee, ne f the mst sustainable ecnmic activities in Puert Ric Develp an infrmative flyer abut the activity and its impact in ur lcal ecnmy that will help t cmmunicate the event in the campus and thrugh the chapter s scial media accunts. Smile fr the Hmeless- NEW! AMA Chapter Initiative Gal: Smile fr the Hmeless is an initiative f ur chapter in which AMA members will prepare meals and deliver them t hmeless peple arund the cmmunity f Ri Piedras. Obtain dnatins f fd prducts t prepare the meals fr the hmeless. Unite with ther students assciatins in the university and cntact reginal AMA chapters in Puert Ric t encurage them in cllabrating with ur chapter. Create tw teams f vlunteers: One in charge f meal preparatin and the ther in charge f fd delivery t hmeless Centr para Puert Ric (Sila M. Calderón Fundatin) Gal: Our gal is t have 10 members t wrk as vlunteers at the Centr para Puert Ric (Sila M. Calderón Fundatin), a nn-prfit rganizatin near ur campus that helps empwer wmen as yung entrepreneurs. Wrk hand in hand with the rganizatin t prmte the services they ffer fr the cmmunity and the impact they have n yung entrepreneurial wmen wh lack mnetary and knwledgeable resurces t establish their businesses. AMA members will engage and serve as advisrs fr these entrepreneurs and will help them develp a marketing business plan and prmtinal strategies fr the viability f their businesses. Think Creative- NEW! AMA Chapter Initiative Gal: An initiative in which AMA members will have the pprtunity t create prmtinal material fr varius cmmunity service events which will be psted in the chapter s scial media accunts. This will nt nly imprve members marketing skills perfrmance, it will als be a way fr them t engage mre in the chapter s activities. Create a members cmmittee dedicated fr the creatin and develpment f the prmtinal material fr cmmunity services rganizatin inside and utside the campus. Instruct the members f the cmmittee with a series f wrkshps that will help them strengthen their skills in the prmtin f events thrugh marketing tactics. New Chapters Supprt Gal: Serve as a mentr fr a university in Puert Ric in their prcess f pening and creating their chapter Invite cllege students frm ther universities in Puert Ric t participate in AMA UPRRP s marketing activities, mnthly member reunins, team-buildings, prfessinal develpment activities, cmmunity and scial impact events, in rder fr them t integrate and engage with AMA s active culture. Maintain cmmunicatin via s, phne calls and persnal meetings t guide them in themes related t chapter sustainability and the achievement f excellence.
