Based in Twickenham, South West London, we offer our students an extensive range of full-time and part-time courses within an effective learning community. JOB PURPOSE The Training Solutions department is responsible for engaging employers in all aspects of the College s work, with a focus on securing and managing employer relationships for the Apprenticeship, Traineeships and work experience functions of the business. The successful applicant will leverage relationships with a range of employers to support the formulation of our external service offering to our customers. Key responsibilities include: Develop new business with employers by supporting them to assess their training needs and the benefit of having apprentices/traineeships within their workforce. To sell a wide range of apprenticeships/traineeships and other commercial training programmes. To initiate, monitor and manage relationships with a range of employers and stakeholders, ensuring commercial viability for the College and high levels of customer satisfaction. Achieve highly stretching apprenticeship/traineeship income targets. Strive to consistently achieve outstanding standards. Key to the role is the establishment and development of excellent relationships with colleagues both within and outside the College. MAN DUTES AND RESPONSBLTES The person appointed shall: Develop strategies to ensure the apprenticeship/traineeship/commercial targets and associated allocations are met in response to local priorities and national policies. Be fully conversant with the funding methodology relating to apprenticeship and traineeship recruitment, as well as a good understanding of the commercial provision. To expand the college's client base, securing new large employers and to effectively manage these key accounts. 1
2 Maintain strong working knowledge of audit and funding rules, incentives and government policy for apprenticeships and traineeships. Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in order to create sustainable employer partnerships to help the College ensure an industry-led approach to the design of apprenticeship and traineeship courses and programmes. Undertake cold calling and telesales activities to support the development of new employer business opportunities and to meet college income targets. Keep abreast and maintain a detailed knowledge of employer responsive and commercial training offered by the college. To act as the first point of contact for allocated Levy paying employers and to offer high quality key account management services. To actively source and engage with Apprenticeship Levy paying employers and to be able to consult and advise Levy paying employers on how to maximise their levy funds. Articulate the benefits of apprenticeships/traineeships and commercial training to employers. To actively generate new and repeat business from Levy paying and none levy employers. Maintain knowledge of emerging, developing and declining workforce training needs and to exploit this knowledge to good effect when working with the curriculum teams. To undertake LM research and employers background, KPs and their business plans to help fully prepare for face-to-face meetings and written proposals. To complete training needs or organisational analysis on each company visited. To prepare written quotes on negotiated fees and college rates detailing instalment plans etc. To prepare PowerPoint sale slides detailing the delivery model and assessment methods or alternatively business proposals etc. To successfully complete the apprenticeship sign up paperwork within a timely manner and to notify curriculum staff within five working days of the sign up process taking place. To cross sell a full range of commercial and funded FE and HE provision to meet employers needs. Develop highly effective links with employers and work closely with the team to ensure commitments to provide apprenticeships/traineeships and commercial training are fulfilled and employer satisfaction is high. To ensure the CRM client database is effectively and accurately maintained. Develop business pipeline reports to achieve annual revenue/learner starts targets and prepare weekly pipeline updates and reports. Report on sales leads, pipeline and actual starts data and forecasts on a weekly /monthly basis as required. To maintain detailed knowledge of the college s products / services and to meet regularly with vocational delivery teams to ensure you are fully conversant with their provision and planned curriculum developments. Provide employers and candidates high quality information, advice and guidance. To organise and attend employer and vocationally specific networking activities such as breakfast meetings, focus group meetings, employer forums etc. Work in close partnership with colleagues across the curriculum areas to ensure operational capacity. 2
3 To liaise with the Apprenticeship recruitment and administration team to undertake apprenticeship/traineeship assessment days and to keep robust assessment and interview records. Liaise with the Marketing team in the planning and implementation of the marketing strategy for the apprenticeship/traineeship and commercial provision. Attend internal and external exhibitions, events and forums to promote the Colleges products and services. Provide employers exceptional customer service and to complete employer surveys and focus group meetings. To develop and foster effective relationships with new and existing stakeholders. Be flexible in approach to work and adjust working patterns to suit the colleges business needs. To be able to drive, where appropriate and to travel to meet employers and candidates. GENERAL DUTES To participate fully in appraisal according to the College requirements and undertake training and development likely to improve personal knowledge and skills as required. To keep up-to-date with Quality mprovement initiatives and to be aware of and meet, service standards for the department. To propose any ideas that may help to promote and extend the College s reputation and efficient running of the College. To undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with College policies inclusive of Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection, Quality and Financial regulations. To report any concerns to the appropriate person. To use appropriate management information to recognise and support diversity in the student cohort. To work safely, consider the safety of others and work within the guidelines stated in the College Health and Safety Policy. To be available to assist in enrolment procedures. This may require additional hours including evenings and weekends, for example, during the Autumn Term. To work flexibly, this will include evenings, open days, parents evenings and possibly weekends. Where this requires working outside normal working hours (e.g. evening/weekend working) time off in lieu arrangements will apply. To undertake any other duties commensurate with your level of responsibility as may be required by the Principalship. 3

CONDTONS OF SERVCE Annual leave entitlement is 29 days per year, rising to 32 days per year after 5 years service, plus 3 days for planned closures of the College, and Bank/Public holidays normally observed in England and Wales. The appointment will be subject to suitable references, medical clearance, enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications. All of the above checks must have been completed before the start of the employment. Confirmation of appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a ten month probationary period.
