This psitin will help prvide leadership t the wrk f ur Cmmunity Engagement team with specific fcus n the develpment and integratin f ur Church Engagement, Cmmunity Organising and Vlunteer Mbilisatin strategies. DEPARTMENTAL STRATEGY This psitin is integral t the Australian Prgram Team s (APT) strategy that seeks t creatively engage Australian Christians wh have nt been previusly cnnected t TEAR while fstering innvative and interactive relatinships with existing supprters. TEAR s discipleship mdel values learning, praying, giving, living justly and praying. TEAR seeks t build a crdinated mvement f Christian change agents, wh can help transfrm brader systems and seek a just and cmpassinate wrld. Mrever, this psitin is integral t TEAR s wider strategic plan t build upn TEAR s rich legacy f Church Engagement, Vlunteer Mbilisatin and Cmmunity Organising. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES RESPONSIBILITY TEAR MISSION AND VALUES This psitin relates strngly t the TEAR missin as expressed within the Australian cntext and especially wrks within TEAR values f justice, prayer, relatinships, and participatin. Team Leadership Prvide leadership and supervisin fr the Cmmunity Engagement team. Wrk t ensure that staff and teams are implementing the strategic plan Prvide Supprt fr the Cmmunity Engagement team. This includes being the first pint f cntact fr issues relating t the wrk f Cmmunity Engagement Managers, recruiting and inducting new staff, and prviding pastral supprt. OUTCOME TEAR s Cmmunity Engagement team reflects strng partnerships with churches and mbilises vlunteers t take actins tward TEAR s visin f a just and cmpassinate wrld. These relatinships are increased and deepened and build twards a crdinated mvement f Christian change agents. Fundamental Well-supprted, harmnius, effective and strng team. 2 Develp and maintain effective cmmunicatin and cnsultatin acrss the Cmmunity Engagement team. Supprt teams as they strategically plan and crdinate effective lcal initiatives utilising where pssible effective partnerships. Ensure the database and ther e-tls serve the needs f TEAR s state teams and are effective tls fr engaging with cnstituents. Help ensure that data and ther tls are used t infrm strategy. Strategic Implement the departmental strategic plan by leading TEAR s Cmmunity Engagement strategies. Wrk clsely with ther members f the Australia Prgram Leadership Team t develp and maintain high quality cmmunicatin channels with supprter netwrks that inspire actin. Prvide insight and strategic input t the Australian Prgram Crdinatr abut TEAR s wrk acrss Australia and the related prgress n achieving strategic gals. Vlunteer Mbilisatin/Cmmunity Organising Develp, cntextualise and ensure executin n strategy, which recruits, mbilises and uses cmmunity rganising structures fr vlunteers t achieve TEAR s missin. Wrks clsely with the Australia Prgram Leadership Team t develp and deliver key Vlunteer engagement pprtunities acrss all channels and spectrums f TEAR. Cmmunity Engagement team are well infrmed f what is ging n at TEAR. The needs, cncerns and ideas f the Cmmunity Engagement Tam team are effectively represented in the brader department. Quality activities ccur at which vlunteers and supprters are challenged t respnd accrding t the five key respnses. Initiatives are well planned, bradly advertised, have high participatin, and increase TEAR s engagement with the Christian cmmunity. Due cnsideratin is given t inclusin and safeguarding children. Wrk with Cmmunity Engagement team and relevant crss-functinal staff t ensure the database helps facilitate successful delivery f the TEAR missin. The established bjectives f grwing, deepening and strengthening TEAR s cmmunity engagement are achieved. Key vlunteer resurces and pathways are cnsistently delivered acrss Australia thrugh crss-team cperatin. Cmmunity Engagement team and their key vlunteers are actively invlved in rganising, prmting and delivering TEAR s message and actins in their lcality. The Australian Prgram Crdinatr is kept infrmed f prgress twards strategic gals and in tuch with the views and pinins f the Cmmunity Engagement team. A grwing number f vlunteers are recruited, trained, crdinated and empwered t act n behalf f TEAR. Cmmunity Engagement team grw, empwer and equip a high quality team f staff, vlunteers and cmmunity leaders t further engage and expand TEAR s message and capacity in their regin. Vlunteers and staff have clear and accessible resurces and actin pathways develped and delivered in a timely manner. 25% 30% 2
3 Church engagement Oversee the deepening f TEAR s relatinship with the Church. Supprt the Cmmunity Engagement team as they encurage deeper interactin with TEAR s Five Respnses discipleship mdel (Learn, Live, Advcate, Pray, Give). Strategic netwrking with church and denminatinal leaders. Help prvide leadership and representatin in relevant frums that are strategic t TEAR. TEAR Staff and key vlunteers empwered t lead and deliver n key strategic prjects and aims. TEAR is a respected and sught after rganizatin fr churches seeking t be invlved in glbally fcussed integral missin and pverty alleviatin. TEAR s biblical fundatins and apprach are highlighted amng churches. Respnses f increased giving, learning, advcacy, prayer and lifestyle changes. TEAR s visibility and reputatin amng Christian leaders and netwrks is enhanced. KEY POSITION RELATIONSHIPS Internal The Natinal Church Engagement Manager will develp gd wrking relatinships with the State based Church Engagement staff and vlunteers arund Australia. The Natinal Church Engagement Manager sits within the Australian Prgram Leadership Team (APLT) and wrks with their peers t implement crsscutting strategy (educatin, fundraising, advcacy and empwerment, cmmunicatins and cnstituency develpment). External The Natinal Cmmunity Engagement Manager will nurture strng relatinships with Australian stakehlders including Christian leaders and TEAR supprters. They will initiate and supprt the develpment f strng and brad netwrks within the Christian cmmunity. They will als develp gd relatinships with members f all ther teams at TEAR. Ntably they will wrk clsely with the Internatinal Prgram Team and will develp gd wrking knwledge f TEAR s glbal implementing partners. WORKING ENVIRONMENT The Natinal Cmmunity Engagement Manager will wrk clsely with the Cmmunity Engagement team wh are lcated arund Australia. The Natinal Cmmunity Engagement Manager will undertake sme dmestic travel t prvide supprt and supervisin f the Cmmunity Engagement team and t participate in relevant events. The Natinal Cmmunity Engagement Manager will have t undertake limited internatinal travel in rder t learn abut TEAR s internatinal prjects r assist with expsure trips.
