3 Muslim Association of Britain The Muslim Association of Britain is a grassroots organisation formed in Twenty years ago, a handful of Muslims decided to actively be part of British Society and to work for its betterment for the good of everyone living in the UK; putting into practice Allah s words: Indeed, Allah (does) not change the condition of a people, until they change what (is) in themselves. (Surat al-ra ad, verse 11) For that, within 20 years MAB has expanded its scope of activity to show that Muslims are present and positively productive in all branches of British Society. MAB aims to a higher level of education of the Muslim Community, leading different programs such as the REVIVE educational programme, lectures and webinars; to enhance a balanced understanding of Islam creatively through a variety of activities that bridge the gap between knowledge and action. MAB s vision is a lifestyle centred on the good of the whole Society highlighting the plus value of Muslims within the UK. MAB encourages to actively participating in the political life in our country; as we believe engagement is the key to effective cohesion.

4 The Convention Theme The MAB National Convention will be held with a special theme this year, titled: My Faith My Inspiration; a theme which aims to promote POSITIVITY. The Muslim Community is full of skilled, motivated and aspiring people. On numerous occasions, the Community has shown its amazing power! However this contribution has been diluted through numerous negative stories and incidents, which simply does not reflect the reality. This is why the MAB National Convention 2017 will highlight the wonderful work Muslims do to show what the reality is. The Convention aims to increase hope and unleash barriers to allow us, our children, our brothers and sisters to make our dreams become true. MAB believes in the power and the potential of Muslims to make our Society a better place to everyone. Promoting positivity is essential for our community as it is a booster for potentials, talents and an engine for the economy.

5 The Venue The main hall will accommodate a large public to listen to our special guests and artists. The Muslim Association of Britain has chosen the stunning setting of the New Bingley Hall to welcome you at its National Convention An outside space will safely allow activities for kids Up to 250 car park spaces Disabled access At the same floor, we are expecting over 40 stalls Space for prayer in congregation The Hall is decorated to the highest of standards and there are plenty of facilities for all visitors. 6 The programme The convention aims to create hope spreading the message that Islam leads us to push our limits. The programme is made to promote and emphasize the existing positivity of Muslims in our Society. The inspiring speakers such as Dr Omer El-Hamdoon, Sh Fadel Soliman, Dr Anas Altikriti, will deliver motivational speeches on how Islam is an engine in our lives and encourages individual and collective endeavours. Entertainement: Nasheed group, comedy artist, spoken words performances, awards delivery, etc... Activities for all ages will attract youth and families: For the youth: Archery, Bouncy Castle, Wall climbing, For kids: Kid Kart, facepainting, crèche, etc.. For adults: workshop will be organised throughout the day, led by our speakers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit a wide range of stalls and the exhibition area.
