Job Purpose To lead and co-ordinate the development, review and implementation of the Leicestershire and Leicester Sport and the Economy growth plan. Main Duties and Responsibilities Corporate 1. Manage the implementation and delivery of the Leicestershire & Leicester Economy and Sport Sector plan and associated action plan. 1
2 2. Provide executive support to the Economy and Sport Steering Group (which is a sub group of the Leicester-Shire and Rutland Culture Board ) 3. Provide quality advice to SME and partners to help grow sport and pa related businesses. Ensuring that those businesses are connected with the broader LLEP growth strategy and support services. Main Duties and Responsibilities General Operate as an effective and pro-active relationship manager/ business partner with private, public and community partners, identifying needs and 4. opportunities for growth. 5. Support sector culture change by driving innovation, networking, service transformation and continuous improvement. Helping to position Sport and PA as a key sector for growth within the LLEP priority areas. Helping sport businesses unlock future investment. 6. Ensure that Equality, Diversity and Human Rights considerations are an integral part of all policy development, service delivery and transformation activity. 7. In line with the Partnership values, lead the development and delivery of insight led, customer focused, high quality, cost effective services/support through effective engagement with a range of partners from the private, public, voluntary and community sectors. 8. Provide strategic insight, advice and challenge by developing and sustaining effective working relationships Develop and promote the Sport brand as a USP for Leicestershire and Leicester supporting economic growth through the business of sport and pa growth. Ensure that the appropriate plans, contracts, risk controls and performance management arrangements are in place to ensure effective delivery against agreed outcomes Co-ordinate the delivery of programmes and projects identifying opportunities (including funding opportunities) to do things differently. Support outcome based commissioning, maximising opportunities to commission based on evidence and across services/organisations wherever possible. 2

Main Duties and Responsibilities Specific Lead and coordinate work to support economic growth through the business of sport, including support for businesses, measures to improve 14. skills and support people into employment (in particular those furthest from the labour market), and the provision of infrastructure and sites Build effective working relationships with the LLEP and its key partners, Leicestershire County Council, Leicester City Council, district councils and other public sector organisations, and key government agencies, the business community and its representatives, VCS organisations, and contractors in order to access funding and develop and commission initiatives which will support economic growth priorities through the business of sport. Influence partners, within and beyond the partnership, to develop innovative measures, and exploit opportunities, resources and assets, to maximise the impact on the economic prosperity of Leicestershire/Leicester residents and businesses using sport as the platform. This job description sets out the duties and responsibilities of the job at the time when it was drawn up. Supporting SME to develop and grow their businesses Evidence of building effective working relationships / working as an effective relationship manager for a range of themes/ partnerships/ organisations and of leading/ supporting teams which include internal and external partners. Knowledge Of the key economic drivers of the LLEP and Sport England An understanding of the current national sport and pa strategies led by the DCMS and Sport England. 4
