1 Job Description Position Details Faculty/Professional Support Service School/Department Division/Section/Unit Job Title Professional Services Professional Services Student Journey Transformation Project SJTP Integration Business Analyst Vacancy No 0552 Grade 8 Hours of Work Contract Duration (Perm/Fixed Term) Reports To (Job Title) 37 hours per week 2 Month fixed-term Solution Project Manager - SJTP Principal Accountabilities As part of the Integrations Solution team in Student Journey Transformation Programme (SJTP), gather and disseminate requirements from business teams in order for the integration with U4SM be as smooth and issue free as possible. Act as Business Analyst for various internal business areas (Marketing, Curriculum etc) utilising business analysis processes to ensure the technical solution for integrations are able to support the requirements of Manchester Metropolitan University. Assist the Solution Project Manager to ensure delivery of the defined business benefit and work with key business stakeholders across the University including Managers and teams, in order to manage and meet customer expectations. 2 Key Tasks Specialist Responsibilities Be responsible for the sourcing, creation and management of business requirements from different areas of the Manchester Metropolitan student journey process in order to provide reports and findings to senior level stakeholders within the Student Journey Transformation Programme (SJTP) in order to contribute information to board level meetings. Provide an advanced level of in-depth analyses of the Student Journey Software (U4SMs) roadmap to record and manage the integration solution, ensuring that the University is aware of what is being delivered. Undertake bespoke analyses in response to specific requests or queries by the business teams or Project Manager. Deliver systems that integrate internal and external data sources to inform high quality decision making at operational, institutional and governance levels. Challenge and develop existing systems and processes, applying reasoning and informed logic, to ensure that all work generated is appropriate to the request and the desired outcome. Through liaison and negotiation with relevant parties such as U4SM, SJTP and Manchester Met colleagues up to Director level, provide a resolution to complex information issues on an institution wide basis and make recommendations from analysis to senior level stakeholders. Develop strong working relationships with senior managers within the SJTP and central service areas to influence and promote an integrated approach to data capture, storage, analysis and interpretation. Service Delivery Summarise and present detailed analytical findings in a way that can be easily understood to help inform SJTP management team and strategic decision-making. This will include written reporting, statistical reporting, and delivering presentations internally and externally. Analyse data and present this to senior stakeholders to make informed decisions, which will have University wide implications, regarding the mapping of integration solutions. Within Business Analyst methodologies, functionality analysis, compare U4SM services provided and downstream system functionality to report on discrepancies and advise on solutions to senior stakeholders. Areas will include functionality issues, timelines, informing the specialist agile development team on findings and giving input to provide a solution that works for SJTP, U4SM and BAU with minimal disruption to BAU operations. Co-ordinate meetings between U4SM and any other Manchester Metropolitan University departments to ensure information is gathered and shared in a timely manner in line with the SJTP programme delivery roadmap. Co-ordinate, on behalf of the Solution Project Manager, the planning of tasks and document risks specific to the work-stream. RF Manager 25 8 IH

3 On behalf of the Integration team, delegate tasks and put together a plan including key milestones to collaborate with business as usual (BAU) teams to meet deadlines. Plan to ensure the team deliver on their responsibilities in line with Programme timescales to the Solution Project Manager. Provide accurate information for SJTP programme impact. Challenge and develop existing systems and business processes, applying reasoning and informed logic, to ensure that SJTP solution is appropriate to the request and the desired outcome. Make an active contribution to relevant external groups. Provide support to scrum master and Solution Project Manager in planning the project activities in line with University and programme life cycle for Go-lives to feed into the overall Integrations project plan and product backlog for the development team. 4 Special Features You may be required to work additional hours to meet the needs of the business. Miscellaneous You will ensure that appropriate management systems and procedures are in place to meet your health and safety duties and responsibilities contained within the University s health and safety policy. Such other relevant duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be assigned by the Manager in agreement with you. Such agreement should not be unreasonably withheld. You may be required to undertake a specific Health & Safety role, commensurate with your grade, to support the University in meeting its statutory Health & Safety obligations. This could include acting as a DS Assessor, First Aider, Fire Marshall or Departmental Safety Co-ordinator. The allocation of such roles will be subject to the provision of appropriate training and assessment of competence. You may with reasonable notice, be required to work at any of the Manchester Metropolitan University sites. You are responsible for assessing and managing risk for all elements of work within your own area/team and for ensuring effective risk management processes are in place.
