Chairman of Salvos Stores Executive Board. Salvos Stores is the retail arm of The Salvation Army Australia Southern Territory and operates over 210 retail stores in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Salvos Stores operates as a fully functioning retail business, recycling pre-loved goods and relying heavily on the generosity of the public. Salvos Stores maintains a professional retail network and dedicated store staff and volunteers, professional Support and State Offices, a great team of retail managers, and a highly effective operations team. 5 Key Result Areas Key Activities Standard Measures Head of Salvos Stores and Retail & Operational Management Plan for Salvos Stores long-term growth and profitability. Overall responsibility for setting Salvos Stores strategic agenda and forward strategic planning. Sustained growth of business unit is evident year on year, in terms of surplus, sales, numbers of stores, assets etc. Long term viability of Salvos Stores. Ensure the effective stewardship of Salvos Stores financial and non-financial resources, including the management, control and reporting of human, financial, information, material resources and facilities. Implement systems of management, reporting, visitation and control to adequately resource all stores and support functions. Establish appropriate policies and procedures, combined with an empathetic organisational culture, such that Salvos Stores meaningfully supports the mission and values of TSA, in addition to providing financial support. As agreed, oversee Salvos Stores Call Centre (13 SALVOS) which is also the Territorial PR, Communications and Fundraising Call Centre for TSA. As the primary TSA contact for matters pertaining to Salvos Stores (the figurehead), relay as the main conduit for all communications and provide support to TSA leadership departments and divisions. Budgeted surplus as agreed with TFC delivered each financial year. Strategic plan approved by TFC and in place at all times. All functions/stores adequately resourced for optimum performance. TSA purposefully supported by Salvos Stores, queries and requests addressed and appropriate culture demonstrated to the satisfaction of TSA Cabinet as required. Salvos Stores Call Centre appropriately supports the PR, Communications and Fundraising requirements of TSA. Salvos Stores provides items free of charge to those referred by TSA centres, to the monetary value agreed in yearly budgets. As a highly public and visible arm of TSA, Salvos Stores provides customer service to a high level to enhance the public perception of TSA. CEO reports to SBA monthly, with any queries and requests resolved at a satisfactory level. People/Culture Leadership Lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers to achieve the mission, vision and values of Salvos Stores. Establish and maintain a productive and positive culture ensuring the sustainability of Salvos Stores. Appropriately skilled and engaged employees and volunteers fill required positions at all times. Positions of key importance identified and back up plans in place. High performance culture established with highly engaged employees and volunteers and evidenced by financial results (above), performance appraisals and surveys etc. as required. CEO (PD) Page 5

6 Key Result Areas Key Activities Standard Measures Finance, Property and Legal Marketing, Public and Media Relations Implement people management and learning systems to establish a high performance culture, including but not limited to: performance appraisals, induction, skill-set training (accredited and non-accredited), mentoring, conferences, etc. Implement workforce management systems to efficiently replace staff as required through turnover, including recruitment, training, succession planning etc. Accept responsibility for Salvos Stores overall financial performance. Oversee the management of Salvos Stores financial resources, ensuring that expenditures remain within budget. Develop business to enhance revenue and ensure continued growth. Review and approve all property proposals for new sites required to achieve the sustained growth of Salvos Stores. Exercise due diligence in overseeing the implementation of all contractual agreements relating to purchases, suppliers, third party organisations, property matters, employees, volunteers, customers etc. and any disputes arising therein. Stands as the symbol for Salvos Stores. Oversee and approves all marketing campaigns relating to Salvos Stores. Approve the manufacture, distribution and implementation of print materials, signage, conference materials, advertising media, internal and external communications and other publications. Systems ensure all employees receive a documented performance appraisal yearly. Training, up-skilling, conferences etc. run as required. Budgeted sales and surplus targets delivered as agreed. SBA/TFC informed on monthly performance, budget surplus/deficit and predicted trend to come. Financial, property and PR interests of Salvos Stores and greater TSA protected at all times as a result of the due diligence displayed. Presents a professional and coherent message to represent Salvos Stores publicly, raising the profile and sales volume. Salvos Stores represented in a manner befitting the dignity of TSA and in a manner reflecting TSA mission and values. CEO (PD) Page 6
