5 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 2.0 Introduction Of The Object The Proposed Gundoj Granite (Minor Mineral) Mine Project of R.K. Stones Granite is situated Near Village Gundoj, Tehsil - Pali, District - Pali (Rajasthan) over an area of ha. in Khasra No.. The letter of intent has been issued in favour of R.K. Stones Granite vide letter No. ME/Sojat/Min./M.L.13/2014/1629 dated Copy of LOI is enclosed as NNEXURE-V. The Mining Plan has been approved by S.M.E. Jodhpur, Department of Mines and Geology, Rajasthan vide letter No. SME/JO/CC/SOJAT/MINOR/13/2014 dated 28/12/2017. Copy is enclosed as ANNEXURE VI. The mining will be carried out by open-cast mechanized method as per the approved Mining Plan only. The entire lease area is classified as Private Land (Badani2) with no forest land involved. The proposed rate of production is 1,19,952 TPA. The estimated project cost is Rs. 1.0 Crore. The validity of lease is 50 years from the date of registration. Granite is one of the most sought- building materials for the construction purpose. Since granite has hard texture and durability. It is used chiefly for flooring, pavement of roads and imperviousness to moisture and acid, granite is a perfect countertop material. It is also used as decorative stone. This will also generate plenty of employment opportunity for local people. Economy and socio economic level of the area will also improve and there will the opportunity for education, health and & sanitation, transport and other development. The living standards of the area will alsoup- lift on the positive side Table 1-1: Salient Features of the project site S. No. Particulars Details A. The Mining lease of hectare for Gundoj Granite Mine of ML.NO.13/14,Near Village Gundoj,Tehsil-Pali,District- Pali,State-Rajasthan L.O.I was sanctioned in favour of M/s R.K.STONE Partner Sh Hariram S/o Sh Gordhan Ram Jat,V/o-Gundoj,Tehsil-Pali,State Rajasthan. The proposed mine site is (Private Land) Badani 2. The targeted production of mineral will be 1,19,952 TPA. The estimated project cost will be Rs. 1.0 Crore. The expected life of mine will be = 13 years Copy of transfer deed is enclosed as ANNEXURE - I. 2.2 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE NATURE OF PROJECT This is a proposed Granitemining project. As per EIA Notification dated 14 th Sep, 2006 and its subsequent amendments and as per S.O 2269 (A) dated , the project will be appraised as, Category B2 at DEAC. It has been proposed to excavate approximately 1,19,952 TPA of Granite from M.L. No. 13/14, by open - cast, semi - mechanized method. The lease area is 1.0 ha. Total mineable

8 2.0 Introduction Of The Object reserve available is 1,19,952 MT of Granite mineral. The expected life of mine is 13years. The waste generated will be used in making haul roads and building works. The Granite will be transported through by hired trucks. At the end of life of mine, at the end of life of mine, total excavated area will be ha which will be converted as water reservoir and proposed plantation is outside the lease area.. The daily water demand during the operation phase will be 5.6 KLD. The daily water demand during operation phase will be 5.6 KLD water demand will be met from the nearby village pond (desolation and impoundment will be carried out by P.P.). On one hand this will recharge the ground water table on the other will act as a water source for nearby habitants. Only water for drinking purposes i.e. 0.6 KLD will be brought from nearby dug well/phed. However, rain water stored in the pit during the rainy season will be used for plantation and dust suppression. The depth of water table is 75m (Pre-Monsoon) to 70 m (Post-Monsoon) below the general ground level. Thus ground water table will not be encountered during working in the mine. 2.2 NEED FOR THE PROJECT & ITS IMPORTANCE TO THE COUNTRY/ REGION The Graniteis a basic building construction material for constructing houses, bridges and roads. It is cheaper than the RCC construction material due to its easy in workability. Thus, keeping in mind this requirement, mining of Graniteis necessary for durability and to beautify by carving as per the requirement of the consumer. Total of 16 people will be employed for the mining activity which will create direct & indirect opportunity for employment to local people. By mineral production the applicant will pay royalty & other taxes which will be an additional source of revenue for the government. The proposed Granite mining project will cater to the needs of individual and local market of construction, in turn benefiting in the socio - economic development of the region.

9 2.3 DEMAND SUPPLY GAP 2.0 Introduction Of The Object Granite is one of the essential components for building and infrastructural development projects. It has high demand in the market due to increased domestic, industrial and other infrastructural activities. 2.4 IMPORTS VS. INDIGENOUS PRODUCTION In the current business scenario of Granite, import of Graniteis not envisaged. It is for Captive use only no import is proposed. 2.5 EXPORT POSSIBILITY Not applicable as proposed mine is for captive use only. 2.6 DOMESTIC/EXPORT MARKETS Domestic demand is one of the main reasons for the rapid growth of Granite business in India. Thus, domestic market for Granite as industrial material is well established. Granite produced from the proposed Granite mine will be used in building and infrastructural development projects. No export will be done. 2.7 EMPLOYMENT GENERATION (DIRECT AND INDIRECT) DUE TO THE PROJECT The total manpower requirement for the mining activity is 16 Priority for employment will be given to local workers. Following staff & workers are proposed to be employed:- Table 2-1: Manpower requirement S. No. Particulars Number(s) 1. Mining Engineer (part time) cum 1 Mines Manager 2. Mines Foreman 1 3. The Delhi Super Group comprises of Kumbhalgarh, Phulad Ophiolite sute, Sendra-Ambaji granite, Sirohi and Punagarh Group. The DelhiSuper Groupisoverlaid by a sequence of unmetamorphosed sedimentary rocks consisting of sandstone, limestone, siltstone and gypsum beds. The MarwarSuper Group is divided into Jodhpur and Bilara Group which consistsof sandstone, shale and limestone rocks. The DelhiSuper Grouprocks are intruded by granites and rhyolite. The predominant intrusive is the Erinpura Granite. The Delhi Super Group is mainly exposed in NNE parts of the district while Marwar Super Group is exposed in northern part in Jaitaran and Sojat blocks.
