We lead the marketing strategy fr ur wrld-class arts and learning prgramme and we cllabrate clsely with ur cmmercial teams. We are respnsible fr develping audiences, fr generating revenue, and fr building the Barbican s reputatin natinally and internatinally. We achieve this thrugh a mix f audience insight, brand develpment, custmer relatinship management, digital innvatin and bld, intelligent campaign activity. The Barbican presents an ambitius, internatinal prgramme that crsses art frms, with utstanding artists and perfrmers. We excel at prjects that hver n the edge f classificatin. Purpse f Pst Develp and implement innvative, creative and eye-catching marketing campaigns t supprt the Barbican s artistic prgramme, in particular fcusing n Cinema. Supprt the department s verarching marketing initiatives (e.g. Membership scheme and the Yung Barbican scheme) and cntribute t prjects acrss the Barbican s arts and creative learning prgramme as apprpriate.

2 Main Duties 1. Brand and art frm messaging Wrk with the Senir Marketing Manager (Visual Arts) t identify key prgramming strands acrss the Cinema prgramme. Develp verarching campaigns t supprt these stries. Be respnsible fr the messaging f new events acrss the Cinema prgramme, agreeing key selling pints and audiences with prgrammers and Media Relatins, briefing cpywriters and designers as apprpriate. Seek pprtunities t highlight crss-arts elements acrss the Cinema prgramme, and make cnnectins fr audiences where there are (meaningful) links with ther elements f ur prgramme. Ensure the print publicatins meet the highest standards and cmmunicate the Barbican s brand values, seeking t engage audiences and direct them nline. Act as brand guardian, ensuring all cmmunicatins created acrss the Cinema prgramme adhere t the Barbican brand. Ensure all cpy abides by the Barbican s cpywriting and style guidelines. Ensure all third party and external prmter cmmunicatins adhere t relevant Barbican brand guidelines. 2. Campaign Planning Lead n the planning f nsales f seasns and individual events, scheduling and crdinating prgrammers, Bx Office and ther members f Marketing and Media Relatins team in delivery. Develp, and mnitr marketing campaigns t supprt the Barbican s Cinema prgramme. Seek the input f internal stakehlders (members f Media Relatins and prgramming teams, Digital Marketing team, visiting cmpanies and artists etc.) t feed int campaign planning prcess. Invlve, where apprpriate, resident and assciate artists and cmpanies particularly arund significant launch mments that necessitate clse cllabratin with thse partners. Brief the Marketing Assistant in researching and cultivating marketing pprtunities t supprt the planning f campaigns. Ensure Yung Barbican and Creative Learning activity is fully integrated int relevant marketing cmmunicatins and materials.

3 3. Campaign Implementatin Manage the Marketing Assistant in the implementatin f campaigns. Brief and instruct external editrs and cpywriters and in-huse/external designers in preparing cpy and images fr events. Oversee the delivery f direct marketing campaigns including briefing f the Data Marketing Executive. Oversee the creatin f print publicatins including the briefing f the internal design team r external agencies. Write excellent cpy fr s, print and advertising. Create well-cnsidered design briefs fr in-huse and external designers Manage all regular cmmunicatins t supprt Cinema campaign activity, delegating cpywriting and cntent c-rdinatin t the assistant as apprpriate and ensuring accuracy and cmpliance with style, tne and brand guidelines. Liaise with the Digital Marketing team t develp engaging cntent fr Barbican digital platfrms. Wrk with the Digital Marketing team t cmmissin and prmte nline cntent t deepen audiences engagement with the arts prgramme and Cinema in particular. In liaisn with the Digital Marketing department and media buyers, plan and develp digital campaigns t target specific audiences nline including display advertising, search engine marketing, scial media marketing. Brief the Barbican s media agency fr all advertising requirements and the prductin f advertising schedules as apprpriate. Identify and develp partnership pprtunities including sales prmtins and third party activity. Take respnsibility fr the delivery f majr lng-term partnership activity develped by the Senir Marketing Manager (Visual Arts). Oversee drill-dwn research t identify new niche audiences fr Cinema with Marketing Assistant. 4. Cmmunicatin and Relatinship Management Acting as a first line f cntact, develp and maintain gd relatinships with the Barbican s main artistic partners as apprpriate t Cinema, including ur assciate artists, prmters and visiting cmpanies

4 Own the relatinships with visiting cmpanies and artists acrss the Cinema prgramme where apprpriate, taking a lead in agreeing and delivering marketing benefits, advising n issues such as data-sharing, brand and style cmpliance and ensure that, where pssible, their marketing activities supprt the Barbican s verarching marketing bjectives in supprt f Membership, Yung Barbican and Retail. Brief and direct external suppliers (freelancers, cpywriters, designers editrs etc), ensuring they deliver the best quality wrk, delivered t schedule. Liaise with all relevant internal departments including Custmer Experience/Bx Office, Media Relatins and Develpment t ensure they are apprpriately briefed n all planned marketing activity and schedules. Act as the principle cntact fr Cinema prgramming teams fr day-t-day enquiries relating t marketing campaigns. 5. Budgetary Respnsibility Represent Marketing at budget planning meetings and supprt the Senir Marketing Manager (Visual Arts) in develping the annual budget bid fr Cinema. Take respnsibility fr the day-t-day mnitring f individual campaign budgets acrss the Cinema prgramme, liaising with the finance team and the Senir Marketing Manager (Visual Arts) as apprpriate, ensuring all budget tracking dcumentatin is accurate and up t date. Oversee Marketing Assistant (Cinema) in the prmpt raising f purchase rders. 6. Research and Reprting Cntribute t research prjects and pst campaign evaluatin using Vital Statistics and ther reprting packages. Mnitr sales and prduce reprts as required. Present Cinema campaign evaluatins t the wider marketing team when requested. 7. Incme Generatin and Develpment Ensure all apprpriate cmmercial messages are integrated int marketing cmmunicatins t present a hlistic view f the Barbican ffer and t drive revenue, specifically develpment prgrammes and the Barbican retail and catering ffer Ensure all spnsr credits are implemented as agreed in any spnsr cntracts.

5 8. Other Duties T line manage the Marketing Assistant (Cinema) including dealing with emplyee relatins issues, absence management and annual appraisals. 7 Experience Required Significant experience f creating, develping and implementing innvative marketing campaigns, preferably in an arts envirnment Significant experience f digital marketing, including search, cntent develpment, innvative use f scial media channels and prgrammatic media planning / buying. Experience f undertaking data and statistical analysis t evaluate the effectiveness f marketing activity and prduce reprts including campaign evaluatins. Experience f supervising staff in a marketing envirnment. Experience f managing budgets. Other relevant infrmatin 35 hurs per week Mnday t Friday with sme evening and event wrk required. 10 Summary f Terms and Cnditins f Emplyment This summary is given as a guide and is nt intended t frm part f an individual s cntract f emplyment. Salary The salary fr this jb is 33,390-37,800 per annum. This figure will be reviewed annually frm 1 July in line with the pay award fr ther salaried staff within the City f Lndn Crpratin. Cntract The jb is ffered n a ne year fixed term basis. Hurs f Wrk Nrmal ffice hurs are 35 hurs per week excluding lunch breaks, Mnday t Friday, inclusive but the pst hlder shall be expected t wrk the hurs necessary t carry ut the duties f the psitin. Frequency and Methd f Payment This is a mnthly paid appintment and salaries are credited t a Bank r Building Sciety Accunt n the 11th f each mnth. Annual Leave There is an entitlement f 28 days annual hliday plus Bank Hlidays. There are subsequent increases t entitlement t annual hliday accrding t length f service. Sickness Absence and Pay The City f Lndn Crpratin has a cmprehensive Occupatinal Sick Pay scheme, details f which can be fund in the Emplyee Handbk which will be made available t yu upn cmmencement. Pensin Yu will autmatically be admitted t the City f Lndn Crpratin s Pensin Scheme. Emplyees cntribute between 5.5 and 12.5% f their pensinable pay t the scheme, depending n salary.

The amunt f cntinuus service which yu have will affect yur entitlement t certain cntractual benefits; fr example, annual leave, sick leave and maternity leave. Learning and Emplyee Develpment The City f Lndn prvides fr financial supprt and time ff fr staff t study fr apprpriate qualificatins which relate t their duties r undertaking prfessinal skills update training. Emplyee Vlunteering Prgramme Thrugh its partnership and regeneratin wrk, the City f Lndn aims t cntribute t the scial and ecnmic regeneratin f the seven brughs brdering the City: Camden, Hackney, Islingtn, Lambeth, Twer Hamlets and Westminster.
