2 Addendum No. 3 Page 1 of 3 Project No.: Date: April 12, 2019 Project: Weston Foundation Farming Expansion at Whitby Campus The following information supplements and/or supersedes the bid documents issued on March 19, This Addendum forms part of the contract documents and is to be read, interpreted, and coordinated with all other parts. The cost of all contained herein is to be included in the contract sum. The following revisions supersede the information contained in the original drawings and specifications issued for the above-named project to the extent referenced and shall become part thereof. PRE-BID MEETING MINUTES 1.1 Notes from Pre-Bid Meeting Walk-Through April 09, 2019:.1 Crystal Gardner from BBA stated the following general comments:.1 The surrounding Durham College facility will be in operation during construction. Maintaining continued facility operation will be required by the general contractor through the duration of construction..2 BBA reminded bidders that the Post Harvest Building must be completed by July 1 st 2019 or Durham College would not receive the grant from the Weston Foundation..3 BBA confirmed the scope of work included in the Base Bid to be; all the Utilities and Services, all Foundation work for the Post Harvest Building, Green House Addition and Pre-Fab Storage Container, all Site Restoration and the Post Harvest Building..4 BBA confirmed that an itemized price to be provided for the following equipment; Fish Farm II, Nutrient Film Technique, Pre-Fab Storage Container and the Green House Addition..5 The bidders in attendance were taken to the existing Skills Training building where the existing DCW main was identified. The new buried DCW to the Post Harvest Building is connected back to the existing water main in the Skills Training Building. The proposed location of the two(2) new man holes and new buried sanitary servicing the Post Harvest Building and Green House Addition were identified..6 The general contractors were reminded that access around the facility is complex as it is located within the interior of the campus. Site delivery and proper signage to direct construction traffic is required. The contractor staging area will be selected with the awarded General Contractor for the project. GENERAL ADDENDUM ITEMS 1.2 Refer to sketches SKA-01 and SKA-02 for revisions to concrete slab details for Green House Addition and Pre-Fab Storage Container. 3 Addendum No. 3 Page 2 of 3 QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1.4 Question: Is auto door operators included in cash allowance? Yes 1.5 Question: Is door hardware supply and install in cash allowance? Or just supply, the same as other tenders? Door Hardware cash allowance is for supply only. 1.6 Question: The final bid price, which "food related equipment" (fish tank, greenhouse, hydroponic growing bed, shipping container) are to be included in the final bid price? Refer to revised Price Bid Form. 1.7 Question: Is electrical rough-in for the automatic door operators included in this contract? Or is it part of the cash allowance? The electrical rough-in for the automatic door operators is included in the contract. 1.8 Question: We respectfully request a 1-2 week extension to the tender close date. Yes, we will provide a 1 week extension. Tender will close on April 23 at 11am. Having granted this extension it is imperative that the awarded GC issue a Notice of Project and be ready to mobilize on April 29, Question: Please confirm working hours for this project. Work as necessary to meet the schedule. Post Harvest Facility must be completed by July 1,2019. The other two facilities must be completed by July 30, Question: Referring to the bid form, item b Alternative Prices, it notes that the listed items are not to be included in the stipulated price, however the items make up the full project. Are these items to be itemized prices that are included in the stipulated price? Yes, Durham College wants an all in price and wants to see the listed items itemized Question: At the site walkthrough, it was noted that there were full skids of pavers in the area where the new water main to the existing building will be installed. Can you confirm if these will be removed prior to our scope of work? Yes Question: Price Bid Form ALTERNATE PRICES (not base bid) Please clarify the extent of foundation work for the Pre Fab Shipping container foundations. 4 1.13 Question: What material are the concrete slabs on grade resting on? The Tender Drawings do not show backfill or any type of grade. What is to be considered for pricing? Geotechnical consultant to confirm prior to placing footing.
