As Payroll Officer you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing functions for 200 employees. As a member of the People and Culture Team you will also support the implementation of human resources policies and procedures. 2 PEOPLE AND CULTURE OFFICER - PAYROLL ORGANISATION OVERVIEW Phillip Island Nature Parks (Nature Parks) is a leading conservation and ecotourism organisation. Established in 1996 by the State Government of Victoria, the Nature Parks manages over 1,805 hectares of Crown land which includes a variety of coastal reserves, wetlands, and woodlands. Each year the Nature Parks attract over 1.3 million visitors to our five world-class ecotourism attractions including the iconic Penguin Parade, the Antarctic Journey at the Nobbies Centre, Wild Oceans EcoBoat tours, the Koala Conservation Centre and Churchill Island Heritage Farm. We recognise that many areas which we manage hold deep cultural and spiritual significance for Aboriginal people. 3 POSITION TITLE DEPARTMENT REPORTS TO DIRECT REPORTS KEY RELATIONSHIP WITH People & Culture Officer - Payroll People & Culture People & Culture Manager Nil Provides Guidance to: Supervisors and Line Manager Employees SALARY Scale 5 PUBLISHED July 2018 Receives Guidance From: People & Culture Manager Executive management team POSITION OVERVIEW Support organisational business objectives through the management of payroll and the implementation of human resources policies and procedures. JOB SPECIFICATION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES Payroll Process Prepare the fortnightly payroll in accord with enterprise agreement and other organisational contractual arrangements Liaise with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure timely payroll payments and accounting Reconcile payroll reports and produce month end reports in accordance with financial requirements Processing and reporting for superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG taxes, workers compensation Employee Relations Maintain accruals for leave, time in lieu and rostered days ensuring managers receive timely information regarding issues Ensure payroll data is updated by employment contracts a review process is maintained to ensure timely renewal Provide guidance and support to managers in matters pertaining to employee entitlements, rostering, time and attendance and use of employee/manager on line Learning and Contribute to the wider activities of the People and Culture team by undertaking projects

4 Development Policies and Procedures Health, Safety and Wellbeing and participating in development activities Maintain a positive and proactive profile as a member of the People and Culture team Assist with maintaining training records Deliver internal processes as required including induction presentations Maintain understanding of current and developed policies and procedures. Develop and update policies and procedures. Ensure compliance of policies and procedures. Adhere to safe work method statements. Comply with and follow OH&S work practices. Identify and report workplace hazards. Actively participate in safety and wellbeing activities. Ensuring the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors. May require travelling to and working at all work sites and external locations. Working in an outdoor environment Sitting Standing Walking (including over rough terrain or stairs) Squatting / Kneeling / Bending / Twisting Pushing / Pulling / Lifting / Carrying / Reaching Computer usage (Keyboard/mouse/tablet) Use tools (Shovels, hammers, and motorised hand tools) Operate machinery (Chainsaws, Tractors, and All Terrain Vehicles) Drive a Vehicle (Manual and golf buggy) Low < 5Kgs and/or < 2 hours duration Moderate 5-10Kgs and/or 2-6 hours duration High > 10kgs and/or 6-8 hours duration QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
